Let's hope the employee get to keep their job.

I'll quit carrying a gun when they make murder and armed robbery illegal

...regardless of company policy, the employee who shot the armed robber off my back would be eatin' real well for the forseeable future...glad he could do so or the story might read "Two employees slain by armed robber when they couldn't open the safe"...
Re: Kroger worker kills robber during robbery attempt
Her survival instncts told her to stick her head out where she heard gun shots from eh?At first, Petty said she froze in fear, but then her survival instincts kicked in and she peeked around the corner to see where the shooting happened.
Re: Kroger worker kills robber during robbery attempt
I too hope she is not fired and comend her for keeping the head lines from saying innocent pepple were killed.
i also think some of the quotes are a bit silly. Like has been said whos "survival instinct" says to poke your head out after shots are fired but what ever.
the article kinda bug me as they are written to try and make it sound like a loon woth a gun opened fire in a store full of people

Recidivism rate after arrest, conviction and incarceration for a violent crime: 60% +Kroger worker shoots, kills robber, during robbery attempt
Recidivism rate after sustaining lethal injury during the conduct of a violent crime: 0%
Option 2 works for me....
88 day wait for the state to approve my constitutional right to bear arms...

perhaps they should lobby to keep guns out of the vegetable Dept at Kroger

Considering the Police Officer who got the gun taken away by the knife wielding carjacker today http://www.wfaa.com/news/crime/Man-gets ... 10403.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; .. I'm surprised they aren't calling for the disarmament of Campus Police .... so all (legal) guns would be off campus and everyone could "feel" safer.

The "keep guns off campus" guys are tweeting like crazy for everyone to call their Indiana Congressman to "keep guns off campus"INDIANAPOLIS -- A shooting at an Indianapolis Kroger grocery store is giving several gun-related bills new momentum heading into the legislative session, which begins Wednesday, Jan. 4.
A Kroger employee shot and killed a man who was trying to rob the store on Indy's northwest side Monday evening.
The employee likely violated the company's policy by having a gun in the workplace, but some state lawmakers told RTV6 the incident is proof Hoosiers should be able to exercise their Second Amendment rights.
"This is a great example of a case where an individual was exercising the right to protect themselves," said Republican Sen. Jim Banks, of Columbia City. "It bolsters the premise of allowing people to carry a weapon to protect themselves in situations exactly like this one."
Banks is expected to introduce legislation that would allow licensed gun owners to carry guns onto public college campuses in Indiana.
Currently, university policies prohibit guns, but Banks' legislation would override them, RTV6's Kara Kenney reported.
"What we don't know is what would've happened if this Kroger employee wasn't carrying a gun, and if he wasn't able to defend himself and the other employees," Banks said. "It could've been much more of a tragic situation. We'll never really know."
Students for Concealed Carry on Campus said after the Kroger shooting, the law needs to be updated.

reading some of the comments and bickering on the news websites kills me , but one repsonse i enjoyed made me think of most of the members on here
" Many like you would sooner allow themselves to be beaten, raped, and murdered before harming anyone themselves. However, if at all possible I will not be a victim and I will not allow my wife, daughter, family member, or even you to become a victim. i have a feeling theres more than a few sheep dogs on this site , and that makes me happy
