I have a question guys. Would a juvenile felony disqualify u from getting a chl in Texas ? It happened in 1996 I was 11 years old. I'm 26 now. I havent been in trouble since.I know juvenile records don't hinder u from buying a gun in Texas. Im just not sure on the chl. I get proceed's everytime I buy a Gun. Never been denied.

It's a ten year disqualification for "delinquent conduct violating a penal law of the grade of felony" so if it's been 15 years, with no subsequent criminal troubles, you're likely eligible.

I had a DUI when I was 17 back in the early 80's in Ohio. Never even showed up on my juvenile record. Could be there is no record at all even though you know you got in trouble. I made a simple phone call to the court before starting my CHL process and they told me my record was clean. So for what it's worth, maybe call the county in question and check your record now that your an adult. It worked in case any ways. Good luck.

:iagree: Ask the county courts for a misdameanor and felony history on yourself in the county the offense occurred.

Spoke to the DPS chl office and all they need is a copy of my court disposition. To prove the I was charged as a juvenile. She said it shouldn't be a problem in getting my chl, cause of it being a juvenile record. Thanks guys
