CHL class - 11/22/11
Submitted online application - 11/26/11
Fingerprinting/mailed in paperwork - 11/28/11

Got my confirmation that someone received it in the mail room of the DPS office, but it still hasn't updated on the website. Hopefully it's a smooth process with no hiccups.

Still got 4 more weeks or more to wait :(

Welcome to the wait!

My documents arrived over a week ago (per USPS delivery confirmation), but still nothing on the website. I dropped a note via email just to ask if I needed to be concerned or not. The website seems to have been down for the better part of 2 days for maintenance though, so this has put a special damper on my hobby of checking to see if they have updated this!

Yeah I saw that the website was down. I am a bit worried about what I submitted, I sent everything that was on the check list but cross referencing it with the CHL check list on one of the threads I saw, I thought I might've been missing a few papers or affidavits. Can't wait till xmas, it should be there by then. Still would like to see an update though on the website. Did they send you a reply?

No reply....hopefully the first part of next week.

If you applied online, I there are fewer notarized affidavits to be turned in. I think when you click submit you are swearing on your mother's grave about the accuracy, etc.... Hopefully they will be back up and running, as I will feel better to see that they have actually received my packet!!

I was actually contacting them because I was also concerned about my online application, as I think I MAY have forgotten to list a class C on the application :banghead: . I was so focused on getting all the exact correct information and details about the DWI I picked up 11 years ago, that I think I totally forgot to list the Class C on the app, so was contacting them to beg forgiveness in advance!!! I wish I could actually see what I had listed, but oh well. Hopefully they are understanding about this! I have to trust that honesty is the best policy, even if retroactive!

I understand the concern for the Class C, I had a great time trying to fill out my employment history for the last 5 years. Luckily I prepared it previously in case I needed to reference my history for a new job. Good luck to you too! Hopefully both of our plastics will come in the mail before 2012

I lucked out on the employment....have been with the same company for almost 6 years.

Got a reply from DPS, if you can call it that. They sent me that form letter reply that says not to bother them until 60 days are up. I am not sure they really read my comments, but the good news is that my application information is now updated, and so I know that they did receive my packet!! :anamatedbanana

I suppose that I at least have some documentation that I attempted to amend the application to reflect the Class C. My email to them includes all the details that would have been disclosed in the application, so hopefully if this becomes an issue, I can at least fall back on that. Hopefully, my concern is for nothing, and I actually did report it. I wish I had printed a copy!!! Out of my hands for now....so will just sit back and wait for now! Given I don't have a clean record, I am not expecting plastic in my hand before 2012, but hey, would be nice!!!

Looks like I got my stuff mailed in about a week before you did, nguyen925. My status is up to the waiting for verification on my background check. Hopefully it won't take too long. I have the same hopes of having my plastic before 2012 (actually would like to receive mine before Christmas). :drool:

@lugnut - That's awesome that they actually responded. I've been hearing that they can take awhile, I'm sure that Class C won't suspend the BG check too long definitely sure that they'll inform you otherwise if anything changes

@thebigapp - Curious when did they update your status after you mailed them out your documents? I checked yesterday and they said I'm not missing anything, now just waiting on the BG to pass through. Hopefully by this time next week I'll see the status as "MAILED". Hopefully we ALL get our plastic before the new year.

I mailed my packet of papers on the 28th and the website was updated on the 6th showing that everything was received and waiting for the background check to be completed. As of today, I'm still in the same holding pattern. Just from looking at other timelines and my own, I halfway expect to see a change next Tuesday or Wednesday on mine, but as sure as I start thinking like that, DPS will throw a wrench in the plans and I won't see any changes until March of 2012.

Mine took two weeks from "pending review" on the background check, but today it went to all green and in manufacturing! :woohoo

I'm still waiting for my background check to get completed. Been only a little over a week. Can't believe how anxious I am to have this complete and get one more thing to shove in my wallet!

11/21 - applied online
11/23 - fingerprints done at L-1 site
12/3 - CHL class
12/5 - mailed in packet
12/12 - DPS website shows everything received, background check under review
