Holster purses

#1

Post by frplf »

My wife is in the process of getting her CHL. She is thinking about carrying in her purse. We have discussed the problems with off body carry and she is looking at other options. But in the mean time does anyone have suggestions for a good source for purses designed for concealed carry.

Galco has a line of holster purses. There are others out there try a Google search for holster purses.

Galco makes good holsters, and good purses, but my new favorites is Gun Tote'n Mamas.

Keep trying to talk her out of it. If she mis-places her purse half as much as my wife does, you're asking for trouble.

Check this video on women conceal carrying. When I teach my CHL classes, I take the 15 minutes and simply show it. I take the guys to another room to do the ID pictures. If I tried talking about this I would simply feel foolish. :coolgleamA: :coolgleamA:

Youtube has a somewhat racy opening frame which is unfortunate but the video is G-rated.

Guys seem to really not like purse carry, I'm not sure why. I wonder if they are jealous that we women have a multitude of ways to carry. I've yet to meet a woman who has lost her purse, much less one with a gun in it.

I agree. And, yes they do. I have bought 3 different ones there, including one that is actually a really cool laptop bag.

I am not a fan of purse carry - I do set my purse down, and am not comfortable with it hanging on my chair at a restaurant or in the pew at church during communion. My holster purse locks, but I am the worst at church functions and family functions about leaving my purse somewhere. I am embarrassed to admit I have left my purse somewhere - only once, but if it had been a holster, it might have been really bad. I will carry off body, but would MUCH rather have it on me. I fidget MUCH more with it in my purse than I do IWB.

JMPHO - I am such a tomboy and not the average girl, so maybe my views are much more "dude like" ;-)

Sportsman Guide also has some. There are some nice ones on there and inexpensive. I'm looking at getting one.
