This brings to mind the old saying: "Don't mess with an older man. He won't fight; he will just kill you."RPB wrote:El Paso- Alleged robber dies after victim shot him

OK, boys and girls, the word of the day is "Alledge". Let's see how many times we can use it while writing a short story.
an alleged robber
That's when the 50-year-old allegedly pulled out a weapon and shot the Hispanic man.
a bystander allegedly called police

I am old enough to "alledge" something, but according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, I should instead "allege" something.
Definition of ALLEDGE. obsolete variant of allege.

That writer allegedly likes that word ...
it gets better ...
now we have "alleged" and "suspected," and "alledgedly" again
Let's see if we can use alledgedly in the same sentence twice referring to two persons
Perhaps bringing all these allegations will make that reporter an alligator

Police said Matthew DeKoatz, 53, allegedly shot Ben Josef Miller, 32, after confronting Miller, who was allegedly trying to burglarize DeKoatz's vehicle

Because writing/saying "Good-guy +1" isn't PC for the news media who would rather turn the criminal into the victim and sensationalize the story when the "victim's" survivors want restitution for lack of police support and the brutal slaying of their hard-working, honest, family oriented child/parent/relative. Allegedly.
