Wally Walk Warning

Some of you won't like this post

I object to advertising Wally Walks.
There are plenty of store managers that don't like guns.
Using their stores for Wally Walks is going to antagonize them.
This can and will cause more signs to be put up and restrict concealed carry further.

Don't loose sight of the fact that there are anti gunners out there that
would like to heavily restrict concealed carry or get rid of it totally and completely.
Places like Wal Mart have a lot of financial resources and they can lobby law
makers to act against us

I'm not Wal-Mart friendly so it will be a long time before I ever do a wally walk. I've carried every place else I've been just fine. Including the dog parks. I really do not see Wally World campaigning against CHLs but I guess it's possible.

It wouldn't shock me all too much if someone from Walmart Home Office/Mothership caught wind of this and cracked down hard on it. A lot of mgmt. there seemed to think that their "Unlicensed possession" TABC sign at the door meant "No guns, concealed or otherwise."... And yet, they sell guns. Go figure.

I wouldn't be surprised if they caught someone printing/shirt rides up, whatever, and cause entirely too much commotion.
In case you're wondering, yes. I used to work at WM. Past tense.

If Walmart is worried about image, they should squelch http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; before worrying about things they can't see.

It is official company policy from corporate headquarters to allow concealed carry.

However, in states that allow open carry, store management can and does ask an open carrier to leave the store if there are customer complaints.

You DO realize that "Wally Walk" is a figure of speech referring to taking your first trip into the public armed after you get your CHL, right? It's like saying "Put a Band-aid on it" or "Make a Xerox for me."

Now, stop worrying to much and remember: "Concealed" means "concealed."

A) Some Walmarts sell guns.

B) How are they going to know you're carrying unless you tell them?

Posting Wally Walks on a CHL forum is not the same thing as advertising.

That would be true for me about most of your posts.

Wal-Mart is also pretty RV friendly where they are allowed to be according to local ordnance. Their corporate policy is to allow overnight RV parking unless there is some sort of local restriction against it. Within the RV forums, overnight parking at Wal-Mart is one of THE most hotly debated topics with some insisting that there is etiquette to be followed when overnighting there and the rest of us simply being courteous to Wal-Mart and asking the manager for permission to park for a few hours. I strongly believe that RV parking overnight is a much hotter topic for Wal-Mart management than someone using a Wal-Mart store for their first concealed handgun carry. I'm not expecting Wal-Mart to put out a "no overnight parking" sign from a corporate viewpoint any more than I'd expect to see the Texas stores start hanging 30.06 signs. As long as noone drives their customers away, I believe that they would ignore CHLs. Concealed is concealed.

This thread is nothing but more FUD about absolutely nothing.

Don't advertise you bought ammo at Walmart or they might stop selling it. :biggrinjester:
