It is a pistol made by H & K. It has has a unique method of cocking that is done by squeezing the grip. Most are 9mm. The bottom one is in .45ACP.

They're neat little guns. They are one of those that you either love or hate. HK also seems to be mighty proud of them, but they don't seem to loose too much value.

The P7s are reported to be quite accurate.

The bestest gun in the whole wide world.

Thanks for posting the pics.

There is a cult following for these things. I shot one once, and I bought a P7M13 within a couple of months.

I will bring it to the CHL forum shoot for yall to shoot.

I'd love to try one out. Never shot one, just fondled a couple. My gun shop had one a P7M8 a few months ago for $800. It sat on the shelf for at least 6 months. I was surprised it didn't fly out of the door as soon as it was put on the shelf.

Had I known, I would have bought it.

And don't forget the P7K3, the best .32 Auto/.380 Auto ever built.
My wife won't leave home without hers. Currenly in .380 Auto config
but she has the .32 Auto kit too.
It is simply an incredible shooting pistol.

P7M7 was built as prototype only. Rumored to be one or two that never left HK factory. The gas-delayed blowback system used in the other P7s could not be made to work with the more powerful .45 ACP.

Isn't the P7 gas operated too? They are cool little guns.

Gas-delayed blowback (also called gas-retarded blowback) is a firearm operating principle (not to be confused with gas-operated). The bolt is never really locked, and so is pushed rearward by the expanding propellant gases as in other blowback-based designs. However, propellant gases are vented from the barrel into a cylinder with a piston that delays the opening of the bolt.

Gas-delayed blowback is one of the rarer operating principles. It is used by the HK P7 and Steyr GB pistols.

txi, I should have explained in more detail than just posting a pic. The .45ACP cartridge is a low-pressure round. Lower pressure than contemporary 9mm cartridges. Too low, in fact, for reliable gas actuation of the piston. To compensate for this HK designed a hydraulic piston system but that proved too expensive to build and sell.

Also need to correct an earlier statement. There are SIX prototype P7M7 pistols. All built in 1983. They are still resident at the HK factory. One has a 1985 date stamp but it is still believed to have been part of the 1983 prototype production. There are allegations one pistol surfaced for sale in Hawaii for $10,000 a few years ago but this is widely dismissed. Any P7M7 that changed hands today would fetch a good bit more than that.
