Anyone wanting a CHL-100 form that set up as a fill in PDF please E-mail me or PM me. If you want me to insert your Name address etc. include that information also. You will be able to fill the form out from Acrobat Reader but you won't be able to save anything to your hard drive. It will sill require your CHL instructor password to open. Please do not post your Instructor information on the public area of this board.

I just tried to pull up the CHL-100 and it says the form is not available. It is not in the downloadable forms either. I know it requires a code but the form is just not available. Any ideas. I still have an old form I can copy, but I received a letter from DPS with the new form which I think got shredded.

If they pulled it off the website, perhaps they have decided not to go with it.

I emailed SGT Bamsch & prompt this morning I got this response from him.
We can use either & IT will be notified.

His email:
Jerry,

You may still use either at this time. Our IT Department will be notified that it is no longer on the web site first thing this morning. I noticed it over the weekend, as well. Sorry for any inconvenience.

You can enable the ability to save it with the info filled out to your hard drive using Adobe Reader if you change a setting using Acrobat 8 Professional or Acrobat 9 Pro.
"It's under Advanced>Enable usage rights in Adobe Reader..."

I'm not an instructor, but I would enable this for some one if they email the form to me. I'll then email it back. PM me and I'll send you my email address.

I have been working on an Excel spreadsheet that has both the CHL-100 and the CHL-8 Certificate of Class Completion. I was having trouble with the time input in a form that would add a range of cells in hours and minutes (instead of decimal hours), so Sgt. Bamsch helped with that part. (Now I know how to do that.) I have a little more to finish, then I'll make it available to all instructors. Hopefully, I can publish it by the end of this week, but my Granddaughter is coming in Wednesday and being Grandpa comes first!

With the spreadsheet, you will have a data entry page where you will enter everything related to the class. Much of the information will be the same for all students, such as the date, range location, instructor, etc., while some will be student-specific. When the data is entered, all CHL-100's and the CHL-8 will be automatically filled in and all you have to do is print and sign the forms.

DPS has approved the forms for use by instructors.

Above sounds good. Here is the response I got from Sherrie Zgabay:
I will try to figure out how to get the attachment over here for you too. May be easier to email her & get it that way. I may have to wait til Barbara gets home.
It is the "Dirt Clod Syndrome" I suffer from so terribly. :smilelol5: :banghead:

Jerry:

Attached is the most current version of the CHL-100. You may use either the Word document or the pdf file. As Sgt. Bamsch indicated, our IT department has been notified of the error and is working to correct.

Please feel free to contact me directly or you may send questions to our designated instructor email box at CHLInstructors@dps.texas.gov.

Thanks,
