I did things backwards

#1

Post by paulhailes »

So I kinda did my wally-walk backwards. I have had my plastic for a couple of days now but I just made it to the wally-world today, however the first place I went after getting my plastic was GT Distributers, I just love that place. Pretty boring story in both cases, although... I coulda sworn that my XDm almost jumped out of its holster on its own accord :. The one thing I will say is that I feel like my shirt rides up a lot more than it used to, pretty sure I'm just imagining it though.

LL Bean has some great no-iron shirts (that really are no-iron). They come in tall, which is what I wear, but they do cost a couple of dollars more. Gives that extra length to help cover up. They are having a sale right now with free shipping and up to 60% off. My wife is going to pick me up three four for Father's Day.

I'm with ya on the GT thing. I've never seen the Austin one, but love the one up here.

I had the plastic at least three weeks before working up to carrying. Some of us just take longer.

I know what you mean. I carried right away, but I felt a little self-conscious. Now I feel self-conscious whenever it is not on me. I even feel weird taking it off to go to bed even though its big brother is in the safe three feet away from the bed.

I did the same!! I have a Glock 27, Beretta PX4 sub compact and a Ruger P-89.

For my Glock I have a High Noon IWB holster and also a fanny pack from Gun Gear.

For the Beretta I ordered an IWB holster from JMG and it also fits in the same fanny pack.

My favorite is my Ruger. Difficult to find a holster to conceal it. Thinking of getting a large fanny pack
and also looking for IWB belt slide holster.

I recently received my CHL and have been carrying everywhere using my fanny pack. I am 69 and could care less what
people think about how a fanny pack looks but in this south Texas heat that is the only thing that will conceal my guns.

In the past I used a fanny pack a lot to carry my wallet, cell phone keys etc so the transition to a fanny pack for carrying seemed
to be an easy transition. Wrong!! Every time I go out it seems that people are staring at me. I know they
are not but that is how it seems. I know it is the newness of carrying a gun and it will wear off and I will feel comfortable.

The IWB holsters are for when I use anything other than a tee shirt. My Hawaiian type shirts make the Glock disappear and
it is comfortable to carry.

I guess the moral of the story is to begin thinking of what to carry and how to carry before the CHL arrivves. :???:

Agree on the tall or long shirts deal. It was pretty funny a couple weeks ago my GF was holding shirts up to my back and checking to see if they really covered my butt or not. I carry in my back wallet pocket so I also feel like t-shirts creep up a lot when they probably aren't. I did find a number of pretty long shirts with different video game, soda, ect logos on them that were pretty long. I'm 5 9'

"tall" sized shirts usually get rid of that ride up feeling.

The Foundry carries brand name shirts and what not that do the trick for me. And they have plenty of choice that looks decent.

Sometimes I iron my cover shirts and sometimes I don't. I find the summer creases add a little extra to the "camouflage."
