A scenario I never want to test.

Let's revist the Luby's ordeal.

But, lets add to CHL holders to the scene, that do not know each other, and don't know they are carrying.

Bronco comes in, shots start firing, CHL A takes cover, draws, and is taking aim and can see the BG

Meanwhile CHL B takes cover, draws but can only see CHL A.

What if he assumes CHL A is the BG?

Somone walk this out with me...

thanks,

If your using you situational awareness hopefully you would evaluate each threat an an individual basis and recognize the others for what they are.

P.S. I have no practical experience in a self defense situation. Just thinking out loud.

Communicate, move, shoot. What is he doing, is he a threat to me or my family, who is he shooting at, ... there is a lot to take in, but it must be done.

I think I would take out the guy who crashed the car in the place first, then turn my attention to the other cat with a gun and evaluate if he is a threat. Communicate with him, he is now your partner.

Hopefully you are both yelling for the thug to drop his weapon and you may pick up on that if auditory exclusion has not set in.

This is a good one...

But in reality, I would think that the odds of two CHL holders (who do not know each other) in the same place within the same incident are extremely slim...

If that ever did happen, I think it would probably turn out kinda bad for one of them...But then again a glance at one another may say a lot...

I hate to sound pessimistic, but thats just how I feel...And no amount of training or planning can counter the bad side of that senario...

But you do the best you can...And that would be a lot more than the majority in situations like this...So maybe its good to be in the minority...Who knows...

Lets take it a step further...

You're in a shopping mall (soft target) with your family...Billy Achmed decides to do one of those mass shootings with a couple of his buddies, or maybe even by himself (you draw up the numbers)...

Stevie, you have one of the wildest imaginations.
You're in a shopping mall (soft target) with your family...Billy Achmed decides to do one of those mass shootings with a couple of his buddies, or maybe even by himself (you draw up the numbers)...
It wouldn't be pretty. The media would have a field day. The gov't would enact another AWB. All the soccer moms that are in the mall would sure the gun makers because the noise hurt thier ears.

Seriously. You would hope that in the mall, as in the "Lubys" the CHLers would be aware of thier surrounding and act accordingly. Identify the threats. Is the guy in the hawiian shirt shooting at the goober with the AK (because Billy Achmed wouldn't use anything else) or unarmed soccer moms and thier little darlings?

Yes I do don't I...

But then again, my imagination doesn't really get the best of me...

I really got to look at changing my wardrobe now that the Hawaiian shirt thing is out...I'll only wear one to the range from now on...

And "Goober with an AK" may become some new hip-hop song or something...Maybe we can get Tony Bennett to sing that one...

Gentlemen,

What you are talking about is not that unheard of. Let me explain. In my business, identification validation is required. Every person that enters my premesis has their ID checked at the front door.....usually by me. I have had as many as 12 CHL holders in my place of business at one time. It's amazing how many, like me, carry their CHL behind their DL in their wallet. I require that they physically take their DL from the wallet and hand it to me so I can visually inspect it for validation and to assure it has not been tampered with or altered in any way.

I have another employee in my office that is also a CHL holder and she too has counted up to 8 CHL holders in our office at any given time.

I have talked to others in my business who are also CHL holders and they have had several CHL holders in their place at one time.

All I can say is "I pity the poo fool" that starts trouble in my place.....LOL

Question...And I'm not being antagonistic in anyway shape or form...I just curious about that business of yours...

You don't have to be specific, just a general type is what I am referring to...Is it a private entity or some sort of government type facility???
