I sure want one, haven't even seen one. Little stores here in the podunks cant' get em. I could drive to Texarkana or Longview to Academy, dont' think they have em though.

This sounds like a nice pistol, but is very large.
All Models:
Caliber: .45 Auto
Slide Material: Stainless Steel
Sights: Fixed Novak® 3-Dot
Length: 8.67"
Height: 5.45"
Width: 1.34"
Grooves: 6
Barrel Length: 5.00"
Twist: 1:16" RH
From Ruger website.
They don't mention the weight, which also scares me.
My Ed Brown is heavy enough at 41 oz. loaded. And would have to bet this pistol is close or heavier since it is larger.

Hoping they come out with different models. Maybe a lightweight, and with a rail, night sights...etc.
But for the price...hoping the wife is getting me one for Christmas :D

That's a good point.
I've found one online that I'm about to have sent to my FFL. I figure worst case, I could sell it for about what I pay for it since it's so hard to find.
I don't intend to make it a carry gun often, if at all. It will be more for fun, IDPA at times, and the occasional pig or varmint.

Re: How many on here have the new Ruger SR1911?
Just ordered it from Vance. They had 1 left!!
I have checked all over Houston and even Austin with no luck. One dealer I know well here in town said they are WAY back-ordered and it could be a year! before they get one. So I ordered it immediately from Ohio.
Hopefully, I'll have it by this weekend. I can't wait!
I"m guessing that based on the supply, I could flip it for a few hundred dollars. I don't plan on doing that because I want this gun, but it's a nice piece of mind if for some reason I don't like it.

Glad it worked out for you. Guess you found out how hard it is to get through on the telephone.Scott in Houston wrote:Just ordered it from Vance. They had 1 left!!

I was really looking forward to getting one of these for my birthday or christmas. I really hope they are not backordered for that amount of time. If they are, i guess i will have to go with a glock 21 instead to satisfy my need for a fullsize 45.

Yeah... they aren't easily reached on the phone, but I've managed to talk to them twice now. They're real helpful once on the phone.Jumping Frog wrote:Glad it worked out for you.
