USPc can be made bearable if flush floorplates are installed on the mags. But yeah...they're chunky.

I found my USPc .40 to be quite comfortable, despite the additional bulk compared to a 1911. When I bought mine, I also owned a Commander sized Sig 1911. I don't regret selling the Sig, but I very much regret selling my USPc.

No real preference here. They both carry and shoot well. Of course, the Commanders are so much prettier.

I own and carry both and really don't prefer one over the other. I shoot the 1911 better because I have much more range time with it, but I shoot the HK really well too. Typically comes down to what I am wearing.

That width definitely makes a big difference, but my USPc.45 isn't the worst thing in the world to carry. Winter makes carrying easy, because the pistol really is relatively light weight. It's summer with the light clothing that makes it hard to conceal. It's always comfortable though. Flat floor plates and the bobbed hammer. The finish is still sweat proof as far as I can tell. I am interested too. Right now I carry my Ed Brown 45cal. Yes it is an expensive gun to carry. But I did not buy it to be a safe queen. If I wanted a safe queen, I would have kept my cash. But that said, the Brown weights in at 34 oz. empty and with a full mag 41oz. Gets pretty heavy after several hours. Was going to wait on a Beretta PX4 compact 40. But Beretta can't come up with a release date. Heard everything from this month to 2012.
So I guess my question too is why your current carry? What is your current carry? Caliber? Weight empty and full? Length, width, & height? Let's compare apples to apples. But be sure to include caliber.

1974 Colt Combat Commander in .45

With a quality pancake holster it comfortable and concealed.

Never weighed it since it doesn't seem to be heavy.

Why is that?

I found the USP a bit more difficult to conceal.... For me, the most important concealment dimension is the height of the grip from the bottom of the trigger guard to the butt. Basically, the length of the grip outside the holster. Even though the USP compact and P2000SK are virtually the same overall height, there was something about the USP-C that just wasn't working for me. The butt was always printing.

Honestly, I "tried them on" and the P2000SK just worked better for me.
It just exactly fit my XL (glove size) hands. YMMV. Both are great shooters.
Oh... and the adjustable/swappable backstrap on the P2000SK is also really nice.
