How does heat effect...

#1

Post by Rockrz »

With all the super hot weather this summer in Texas...how do the high temperatures effect ammo in one's vehicle?

If a fella keep his firearm in the vehicle, are the bullets gonna be OK in the extreme heat?

I never heard of rounds going off on their own sitting in a hot vehicle, but can they be damaged where they wouldn't fire properly?

Just curious to hear feedback on this topic...

I think that as long as it is not as hot as an oven, you'll be OK: viewtopic.php?p=167209#p167209.

Seriously, I don't think that a vehicle interior gets hot enough to harm a pistol or its ammo, even in a brutal summer like the one we've been experiencing this year.
