30-year-old man (robber) who was stabbed to death during a bungled robbery at a flower shop had previously gone on trial and been cleared of killing a teenager, it has been reported.

Gary Mullings was part of a gang who tried to rob a shop in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, on Tuesday night. But he was fatally stabbed during the incident at Feathers, Frills and Flowers and pronounced dead in hospital. Shopkeeper Cecil Coley, 72, who was also injured, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and he will be questioned by detectives on Thursday after his release from hospital.
During a similar incident in Pendlebury, Salford, in June, a burglar was stabbed to death and a homeowner arrested. Peter Flanagan, 59, was told last week by the Crown Prosecution Service that he would not face charges because he had acted in self-defence and with reasonable force.

Not uncommon. If you are involved in a shooting, even self-defense, there is a good chance you will be arrested and taken in until the DA makes a call on the situation.

This is one of the reason's Charles talks about what to say and what not to day after a self-defense event in his Texas Firearms Coalition Deadly Force Seminar's, as it will lend highly to whether you get to go home or to the station and possibly jail for a time.

Only if they had guns, which were banned long ago. The rank and file Police do not even have guns! Only the "Special Weapons Squads" (or something like that) have immediate access to guns.

This is a prime example of what happens when populations are truly reduced to "Sheep". Gun Control is only effective against law abiding citizens. Will the Dem's here ever figure that out and admit it?

Doubtful, as Liberalism is a mental disorder.

You can't get the right answers if you don't ask the right questions. Your question assumes they don't understand the consequences of what they advocate. They do. The outcome you consider undesirable is precisely the outcome they're seeking.

I would think that it would depend on whether you follow all the gun laws or you disregard them, and why. If you follow all of them, you are certainly law-abiding. If you disregard them, you are NOT law-abiding, but you may or may not be criminal...all in what activities you are engaged in, if you get caught, where you got caught and who prosecutes you for it...and what the citizens on the jury think about what you did. Even in California or New York, a 72 year old has a solid chance of not going to jail if they defended themselves against a young thug or marauder...but in the UK, they fully intend to prosecute that man to the fullest extent of the law...they want to put him UNDER the jail because how DARE he break the "rules"...better to let a criminal stab him in the chest, you know...THAT is the difference.

Breaking the rules may be the excuse, but the motive of the collectivists is to subjugate the middle class with the threat of punishment, either by the State, or the thugs that operate as proxies for the State --with the ultimate objective of diverting and acquiring their wealth and other resources.
