This would even make a Glockophile cry. :( :( :( It used to be a Remington-Rand

Description for Item # 35145543

Here I have a 1911a1 or should I say what is left of one. This one appears to be made up of a welded frame. The slide it tacked to the frame. There is no bbl. The hammer half cocks and strikes a nipple making this a cap gun. What a waste of a 45, but still a neat item. There are many real parts and some homemade ones. No ffl/cr needed on this one as it is just a prop gun now, and probably always will be.

From the looks of the tool marks, it appears to me to be a copy, but I also wonder if it is a theatrical gun.

Pretty rough looking. I agree that it's probably a theatherical mock-up.

On the other hand, if the lower was at any point a serial numbered firearm, it's still a firearm. Welded slide and all. :?

Ahhh... now that I've visited the link and looked at the more detailed photos, I agree that it used to be a GI pistol. No theater fake would bother with the markings.

And so, no matter what the seller says about "no ffl/cr required", it IS still a firearm, until the BATF says its not.
