Brave Chihuahua (PACO) chases armed robbers across the stree

I used to live in Altadena, which is a smaller town just to the north of Pasadena, up against the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains. Altadena has a small town feel, although it is really just part of the larger Los Angeles suburban sprawl. It's kind of an artsy-fartsy community. My brother's millwright shop is there, and he was president of the chamber of commerce there for about 6 years or so. Ace Smoke Shop, the store which Paco the Chihuahua defended, is a tobacco/cigar/pipe shop on north Lake Avenue, right around the corner and up the street from my friend Steve's bicycle shop.

The bad guys enter the shop at about :25, and one of them is armed with what appears to be either a M1 carbine or a 10-22 with the stock sawed off. They jack the store for $200, but not without Paco trying to tear them a new one. At :36, the BG with the gun points it at Paco, and Paco bites the muzzle and tries to rip it out of his hands. Both of the big he-men flee the store in terror, pursued by the furious Paco. Everything after :48 is the owner talking with other locals telling them about the robbery that just happened. They didn't get away with as much loot as they could have because Paco raised the merry devil with them so enthusiastically that they didn't have the cojones to stick and around and get all the money. They succeeded in stealing $200, most of which probably went to buying new underwear, because PACO didn't stop at the front door. He chased them all the way across a busy major thoroughfare.

Paco is one of my new heros. "rlol"

Kudos to PACO!! Too bad PACO doesn't have a physical presence to equal his attitude. If so, the robbers may not have been successful at all. Also too bad the shop owner was caught up in the moment to the point that he could not spare a second to praise PACO for a job well done.

It doesn't surprise me. Those are feisty little critters.
We had a miniature Chihuahua that thought she was a pit bull...just ask our mailman. ;-)

Good job Paco!

I don't hate them, but every dog I've ever owned since leaving home was a minimum 45 lbs, and as big as 100 lbs. I prefer larger dogs. Trapper, the current boss of my house, is a 57 lb boxer/lab mix.

Yeah, if was going to hold up a place, chihuahuas would not deter me. The smallest dog I ever had weighed 135 lbs.

Kinda says something about what scaredy cats the bad guys were.
