After 4 weeks, still waiting on fingerprints

After 4 weeks, still waiting on fingerprints
Completed my CHL class on June 19th.
Submitted my application on-line on June 21st.
Was fingerprinted at L1 in Ft. Worth on July 5th.
I have no background issues and currently hold a "critical staff" security clearance from a Homeland Security institution.
Multiple e-mail has gone unanswered.
Multiple phone calls result in no information and a common answer ... "Give it a couple weeks."
My online status has remained unchanged since June 25th.
"Fingerprints : Not received, notice sent to applicant "
Any suggestions on how to get this application off high center?

Does the L1 location say they transmitted the prints? L1 should be able to tell DPS when they were trasnfered to them.mitchntx wrote:Completed my CHL class on June 19th.

Re: After 4 weeks, still waiting on fingerprints
L1 should have called you if there was an issue - as per the rep at L-1 they have to let you know if it was rejected for any reason.
Contact L-1 and find out if they were rejected.
Hope it is something simple
be safe

Re: After 4 weeks, still waiting on fingerprints
DPS is not good about updating the website. We have had several people tell us they have received their plastic while the website still says "waiting on fingerprints".
What is disturbing about the OP's post is that his status says "letter sent to applicant". DPS only gives you 90 days to respond once they have sent a letter. Then they terminate the application.
My suggestion would be to call DPS again, and, if the technician cannot tell you exactly what they are waiting on, then insist on speaking to a supervisor.

Re: After 4 weeks, still waiting on fingerprints
Critical data:
I contacted L1 on or about the 15th and they submitted a trace and confirmed that the fingerprints indeed were transmitted.
I have a TCN#
The CSR at L1 was very helpful and very responsive. He suggested I tell DPS to request a retransmit.
When I suggested that to a DPS CSR, I was told to wait a couple weeks.
I plan on calling DPS once again, early next week and inquire once again.
As a previous comment, I too am concerned because of the 90 day that has been ticking since July 7th, the date on the letter.
I received that letter on the 29th, BTW.

Re: After 4 weeks, still waiting on fingerprints
I had the exact same issue...the lady at DPS told me they have been having this problem happen quite a bit recently. She said she would request that my profile be refreshed and to check the next day. The next day the fingerprints were green and all was good. Also, if you find you can't get anywhere with DPS, send an email to the Governor's office. I sent a friendly email explaining that I was having a hard time getting traction at DPS with my inquiries, I received a personal response the same day saying they would check with DPS, and a personal response the next day from DPS stating my CHL application was complete. CHL in the mailbox two days later.

Re: After 4 weeks, still waiting on fingerprints
Let me get this straight. Your application was complete less than 30 days ago (7/5) and you already sent a bunch of email messages and called multiple times. They say the squeaky wheel gets the grease but in this case I hope the patient people get greased first.

Electronic application was submitted June 19th.
Suplemental package sent on the 20th.
Fingerprints submitted on the 5th.
DPS website update showing everything received on or about the 8th.
DPS has EVERYTHING except fingerprints and L1's trace shows transmitting them on the 5th.
If you read this thread ...
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14391" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It has applicants who submitted after I did and already recieved their plastic.
When I saw that the DPS website awaiting my fingerprints two weeks after I had them done, I began making inquiries.
I suppose you would do something different? I'm open to suggestions ...

Thanks for the feedback. Might be worth an attempt.ryanr1299 wrote:I had the exact same issue...the lady at DPS told me they have been having this problem happen quite a bit recently. All my email and phone conversations have been positive and cordial.
Re: After 4 weeks, still waiting on fingerprints
I see what you're saying. The application isn't complete because DPS hasn't got the fingerprints. But you were fingerprinted 7/5 and that's less than 30 days ago, so even if FAST was fast, you completed your part this month. I still say follow up with L1 because you paid them and according to DPS they haven't delivered.

OK what am I missing in this conversation.
My app isn't complete.
Everything is at DPS except fingerprints.
FPs were transmitted on the 5th, confirmed by a trace by L1.
DPS has no record of receiving them after almost 4 weeks.
Again, a suggestion on what to do other than contacting DPS is welcome.

Re: After 4 weeks, still waiting on fingerprints
Contact DPS. Ask to speak to a supervisor. Give them the trace number from L1 and ask them to please verify that they have received the transmittal of prints since they have sent you a 90 day letter. If they haven't, then they should run the traps backward toward L1 to get them to send the transmittal again.mitchntx wrote:Again, a suggestion on what to do other than contacting DPS is welcome.

Re: After 4 weeks, still waiting on fingerprints
Thought I'd give another update.
As of August 10th there is no, zero, zilch movement from where it was on June 25th.
Same status and same response from DPS.
So, I took the advice of ryanr1299 and sent an e-mail to the Governor's office shortly after lunch on the 10th.
I was cordial, laid out the timeline and asked what I could do to get the process off high center.
Before EOB on the 10th, I had a response explaining the issue was forwarded to a DPS Colonel.
0900 the morning of the 11th (today) I received a phone call from DPS explaining that my license was sent to print last night and would be in the mail today.
When queried, the person on the phone explained that there have been isolated glitches in the data transfer between L1, DPS and the FBI. He went on to say that unless these issues are brought to their attention, they won't know about it.
He said when all the avenues are aligned, they are turning around a license in under 3 weeks.
So if you are over four or five weeks in, don't waste any more time.
Contact DPS, give them a chance.
But don't just sit back and wait for the grass to grow or the rock to move.
Be proactive, but be cordial and professional.

Did you ask him how to bring it to their attention when everyone you e-mailed or talked to on the phone kept saying "give it another couple of weeks?"mitchntx wrote:He went on to say that unless these issues are brought to their attention, they won't know about it.
