I hope so.Beiruty wrote:So if someone goes ahead and buy few pounds of reloading powder, he will be reported?
Seriously, there are more info behind the scene not reported. Good catch.

Not profiling. Guns Galore runs a check on ANYONE buying black powder, unless you have a chl or they know you by name. AWOL would have been in the FBI database, and yes they are on the ball these days.philip964 wrote:Cool that the gun store where the first guy bought his gun now profiles.

not really ... Federal is cheaper at Wally World. Wally is about a mile and a half from there.unhappycamper wrote:three boxes of 12 gauge ammunition and a magazine for a Springfield 9mm. The man allegedly paid for the items in cash and then left in a cab....
No 9mm ammo. That is suspicious.

Again.. Pvt Joe Snuffy had been flagged for AWOL, Dropped from roles and listed. FBI and DA would have them in the system. Buy explosives and you get checked. if you don't get checked your dealer knows you.

Black powder is. Also the media doesn't say the quantity of powder he bought. In any case I'm sure it was enough to send up a flag in G&G's eyes.Beiruty wrote:is reloading gun-powder classified as explosive?

The news I just watched said he was buying like 6 containers of smokeless gun powder, and what tipped them off was that the guy didn't seam to know what smokeless gun powder was yet he was buying 6 things of it. I don't know just what I heard on the news.

And yet apparently nobody thought to keep an eye on his Facebook account, since a couple of news sources said he was active on it, and planning to attend events listed on FB.Gunner21 wrote:Again.. DFR is normally 30 days AFTER AWOL, which is after he has missed the first required formation or activity… ASSUMING the unit at company, battalion level did the task correctly.Gunner21 wrote:Beiruty wrote:So if someone goes ahead and buy few pounds of reloading powder, he will be reported?

Like many things in the Army, there is no school for this stuff, a company 1SG has to learn it on his own, from someone else or one mistake at a time.

You really need to back off on the personal attacks against posters that do not agree with you.
I generally agree with a lot of your posts, but the two above make the typical Liberal stereotypes just seem to be that much more accurate. "If you don't agree with me, you must be an idiot".

Much more at above linkWACO - Naser Jason Abdo, the U.S. Army private arrested for allegedly plotting a terror attack against soldiers at Fort Hood this week, was officially charged with possession of an unregistered firearm or destructive device Friday morning.
As U.S. Marshals escorted Abdo, wearing handcuffs and leg shackles, out of the courtroom, he yelled out an unknown phrase in Arabic and followed it up by saying "Iraq 2006" and "Fort Hood 2009."

Re: New Plot to Attack Fort Hood - Thwarted
Guns Galore has had their fair share of press recently. In case you did not know, a few weeks ago a man walked in and asked to see a pistol. He then proceeded to load his own ammunition and shot him self in the head. He died a few days later in the hospital. We all know of the press they received over the terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan buying his weapon there. Now it seems the latest terror plot had ties to the same store. Bad MoJo or what?
