The shovel sounds like a good idea and safer for the neighborhood.
From what I have seen of Texas roads the choice of weapon for killing Armadillos is the 3/4 ton pickup (brand not important).

Quoting that link:
ARMADILLOS: Possession and sale of live armadillos is restricted.
So I guess as long as you make darn sure it's not alive, you'll be good to go. :smilelol5:

Yes, they do. http://www.straightdope.com/columns/rea ... ry-leprosy

We're still not sure of such basic facts as how you catch it. (Apparently nasal discharges are one form of transmission, so I guess you don't want to borrow a hanky in a leper colony.)
I don't know about yall, but I never had any intentions, nor will I ever have any intentions, of borrowing a hanky in a leper colony.

I'm a leper, don't you know. And my face is making lepers everywhere I go. I'm a leper. He's a leper. She's a leper. We're a leper. Wouldn't you like to be a leper too?

According to my dad--his dad was on a work site. Saw an armadillo, shot it, he then brought it home they skinned it and ATE IT :eek6 . According to Dad (who is not ancient--in his mid-50's) when they barbequed it he said it tasted like gamey pork. I gotta give that a girly EEEEEWWWWW!

Well, confusion reigns.

I got on the TWPD site last night to order a license, to be on the safe side...even was going to get two day delivery. The problem is that it would expire in September, and two day shipping does not count on the Friday, or the weekends.

One of the members on this forum has offered to come and off the little rascal with his bow and arrow, and to dispose of it. If I get a call at a reasonable hour, then I will get him to come do it.

Just go to your local sporting goods store.... Academy, Bass Pro, whatever, and leave with the license in your pocket. No waiting. That said, licenses are good from September 1st to August 31st, so it may not be worth it for you to get one just to shoot a pesky armadillo that you could likely kill by "accidentally" backing your car over it.

That would be quite a mess.

Yeah, but it would speed up getting it ready for the stew pot. :ack:
