how many bullets do you CHLers carry?
in your gun or extra magazines
i went from carrying 19+1 to 7+1
no extra magazines
i recently went on a long road trip (in states that reciprocate with texas)
and decided to carry my gun with 19+1 cause i felt more comfortable with more bullets

With my .380, 6 rounds.
With my XD40, two mags of 9 rounds each.
I don't carry my Glock anymore...

I either carry 6-1 in my SW Bodyguard .380
or
13+1 in my XD9sc
or
16+1 in my XD9sc
Why the 2 different mags in my XD9sc, depends on the shirt I am wearing of course and how it covers the grip

In a "case" of rounds, I'd hope to have more than one bullet, but I'd settle for one per shell!G26ster wrote:1 per case

10 + 1 in the PT111, plus 1 extra 10 round mag if working, but 2 extra 10 rounders
if off work.
+ 6 rounds of .38 Special in the revolver, but that's only available from my driver's seat.
So the minimum I have onbody is 21, the maximum that I can have onbody + while driving = 37 rounds.
You can't be too thin, too rich, or have too much ammo. :-)

I don't carry spare magazines for my Glock, or extra rounds for my revolver. When it comes to reloading, I am not that fast.
I carry a New York reload.... or two. Just in case.

Re: how many bullets do you CHLers carry?
I find that carrying 1 spare magazine usually satisfies all of my personal rules.
- In a stressful self defense situation, it's going to be real easy to fire several rounds before you even realize how many you've shot.
- CC guns are usually smaller in frame, and so hold less per magazine.
- You could have a mechanical failure with your primary magazine, which might cause you to do a tactical reload that involves dropping the current mag - it's faster dropping a bungled mag than trying to clear the failure in some cases.
- If you can conceive of the possibility of getting into a gun fight as the result of some kind of attack on your person, you should consider the possibility that you will miss the majority, if not all, of your shots.
