There I added an additional detail left from the article.Ridgeway says the burglars left behind a pair of shorts with a brown stain on the back side and a wet spot on the front and a machete the size of a yard stick. Police have taken both. They are still patrolling on the ground, looking for those suspects.

Re: Homeowner surprises burglary suspects
Sounds like he was acting like he was in a Hollywood movie. I think we covered this in the movie pet peeve thread.Homeowner Ray Ridgeway says it happened just after 6am Wednesday, when he heard the glass shatter and the commotion at his front door, so he cocked his gun. Then as one round fell out of the chamber, he says three suspects took off running and jumped into a small pickup truck.

Had a round chambered, but he racked the action anyhow.i8godzilla wrote:Sounds like he was acting like he was in a Hollywood movie. Good thing he didn't need that last round

Re: Homeowner surprises burglary suspects
This brings up a good question. Is it better to make a sound like racking a slide and avoid a shooting someone or well wait and start shooting?i8godzilla wrote:Sounds like he was acting like he was in a Hollywood movie. The only reason I would rack the slide was ifsuthdj wrote:This brings up a good question. 1. I didn't keep one in the chamber.....
2. I wasn't sure if there was a round in the chamber
Re: Homeowner surprises burglary suspects
The only time they are going to hear me rack the slide (on my shotgun) is when I just shot his buddy and I'm fix'n to shoot him.suthdj wrote:This brings up a good question. Gun control is like stopping drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to drive.
