I am sure some of the serious Browning collecters know more about this gun than I do....so if you need any specifics regarding markings or pictures of certain features just let me know. It does have the ribbed barrel.

Where are you located?

Your profile only says "San". That covers a lot of ground in Texas!

What's the barrel length and the choke (should say "Modified" or "Full")?
Also, is it a single gold bead front sight?

The choke will not be written on the barrel. Browning coded the choke information like this:

*: Full
*-: Improved Modified
**: Modified
**- Improved Cylinder
***: Cylinder

Thanks Pawpaw. He should be able to reply using that info.
I'm not interested in purchase, but others will want that info.

The barrel has a single *. it says " * special steel -12 gauge - shells 2 3/4" and the other side says "made in Belgium" and some other basic verbiage. It's really a pretty gun, i just don't need so many guns that all serve the same purpose.

So a single * makes it a full choke I guess

I'm very tempted by this shotgun, but I'd want to hold it and look it over before I dropped that much coin.

I have my father's 1959 Sweet Sixteen, which is a "Light 16ga" version with slightly more engraving and a gold trigger. It is one very nice shooter.

BTW, how do you know it's the Lite version and not a regular Auto-5?

It is engraved "Light Twelve" in the last picture he posted (left side of the receiver).

Sounds like a road trip Pawpaw!

Yes he is correct, it engraved "Light Twelve" right above the "Browning" engraving. I can email or post a bunch of detailed pics if you like...It has a single gold bead front sight

So it is. Sorry I missed it.

That is a very nice shotgun, but I'm going force myself to pass.
