Cosmoline. ;-)
Actually, some sort of fairly similar grease, and I kept it on top of the toilet tank so I could reach from anywhere in the bathroom.

Now I generally just keep my PT-99 holstered and attached to my pants, and take them in there with me. The "lube oil, semi fluid" I picked up dirt cheap at some army surplus store seems to keep it rust free even when it's dripping condensation.

You don't happen to live in a college town, do you? Something similiar happened to me in a college town a few years ago. I got on the main road and all of the sudden this guy goes into road rage mode against me, swirving and everything. I did not do a thing to provoke it; I didn't even pull out in front of him.

People seem to have short fuses over circumstances, like having to live in a college town, and they all of the sudden flip out over absolutely nothing. The camel's back breaks without any straw.

I don't know if you'd call Lewisville/FloMo a college town, but there is UNT right up the road. that's actually one of many reasons I moved out of Denton

back to the topic, trouble seems to follow me!

so, I'm watching the Orange Bowl last night, just chillin' on the couch. There's a middle school right next door to me, I can even see it from my couch, see the buses in the morning yadda yadda.
so, anyways, I'm watchin' Louisville get all over the field, and I hear two distinct sounds. The first: gunfire, the second squealing tires.
so I hit the floor, no need takin' a stray right? after the some of the commotion subsided, I grab a piece, and check out the parking lot from my balcony. There were still several cars leaving the scene (all little Honda Civics and/or clones with neon underneath), some even through the grass and what have ya.
needless to say I'm on the horn to the Fuzz, but there was nothing left to find when they got there. didn't even find any shell casings.
I figger maybe it was firecrackers, but it sure didn't sound like it.
who knows.....

Agreed, I believe the castle doctrine is simply putting on a paper what is currently the "unspoken" law. This is Texas, not California.

I don't think thats entirely true. Since our congressmen will be voting on our version of the "Castle Doctrine" in the next legislative session, I don't think our current law affords us the ability to blow somebody away simply for being in our house. The "Castle Doctrine" is meant to instate that a man's house is his castle, and it will make it legally binding that anyone found there that was not invited in, will, in the eyes of the law, be presumed to intend to cause harm. Thus allowing the homeowner to handle the situation as they see fit. No more legal worry about whether the guy is just a drunk who crawled into the wrong house, not meaning any harm.
This really does support the old trespassing sign: "If you are found here tonight, you will be found here tomorrow." ;-)

When she cleared leather she found 2 employees and a customer with a bead on her. She holstered and departed forth wit.
WOW!!!!! I'm sure she is NOT Top Flight Security anymore?? UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of good info to be had here...

I would certainly not want to take a life for property!

If a person breaks into my house with all my trucks parked in the driveway, he is not afraid and poses a threat(either real or perceived) to me and my family. I will not take chances, I will take the offensive, I will confront the individual(s) and I will neutralize the threat with extreme prejudice!... It makes me mad to even think about some PERSON or persons having the STUPIDITY to enter my home and invade my families safe haven...Certainly nothing good could come from it other than one or more scum bags leaving this earth.

Sorry if I offended anyone.

To err is human.
To forgive is divine.
Neither of which is Marine Corps policy.

No offence taken...I hope it is a two way street...

On one hand you say you do not want to take a life for property, yet in the next paragraph you get mad at someone elses stupidity, and will confront and neutralize the threat with extreme predudice...

Thats a big shift in viewpoints there kemosabe...

Something pushed yer buttons there muh man, and maybe its a good thing to get it out there for us to see...We are in no way your judge or jury...But I certainly wouldn't like to be one that has to sit in and judge you...

Lets not let it get out of hand here in public...If you wish to PM me or a few others on this site that I recommend, I think that would be a good lick...

If I am misunderstanding what you were trying to say here, that would be my bad...

I would be glad to talk to you about it, if you feel like it...
