GA: Two men shot by same bullet

#1

Post by seamusTX »

In Smyrna, Georga, around 1 a.m. today two men in their 50s were fighting when a firearm discharged. The bullet passed through the arm of one man and hit the other in the head.

Both men were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said both would be charged with crimes.

Police did not know the cause of the altercation or whether alcohol was involved.

I killed two ducks with one shot. It was a long time ago in far away Nevada on the West Walker River.

My grandfather used to regularly get a "double" when quail hunting. And in hunting with him for 10 years I never saw him miss.

The above link is only about 1.5 minutes long - hunter kills 3 turkeys with 1 shot.

By the way, Smyrna, Georgia is the US home for Glock - I wonder if the tusslin'
middle-aged men were supporting the hometown team? :-)

You guys are talking about hitting things with 'multiple' bullets. A shotgun has multiple projectiles. The article in this case is talking about a 'shoot-through' where one projectile goes through the first object and strikes the second.

This is a good lesson in making sure you know what is behind your target. Any hit in a fleshy area of a body will more than likely pass through on to something behind it.

I'd say it also illustrates the foolishness of getting into a "tussle" while armed.

I don't know if the guy who had the weapon tried to use it or the other guy tried to grab it. In any case, what should have been a minor dust-up resulted in both guys being shot with resultant hospital bills, and probably charged with aggravated assault, and likely the weapon never seeing the light of day again.

P.S.: No further news about this incident has come out. It's difficult to track without personal names. The media also are not much interested after the initial incident, unless someone involved is a celebrity.
