Buying experience with AJC Sports Shop

#1

Post by P12 »

I looked over this site for the best place to put this. If this is the wrong place please feel free to move or delete it.

I recently decided to sell my Para Ordnance P12-45 and buy a single stack alloy framed 1911. I decided on the Kimber Pro Carry II. After some searching I found from this forum AJC Sports Shop in Clute, TX. I read good reports. I found they indeed had good prices on Kimbers.

Since I was to be traveling from Lubbock to Friendswood for Christmas, it would be a reasonable trip to Clute for some savings. So, I set out to sell my Para on short order. (one week) I found a buyer, so I called AJC to check inventory and hold a pistol for me. I spoke with Aurther and he pulled my pistol and I gave him a cc number. I then sold the Para.

Now I've never bought into the 9mm vs 45acp debate but needless to say when I was without my 45 I felt like I didn't have my right arm. Even though I always carried my Springfield 1911 9mm.

I made the trek to AJC the Tues before Christmas. Upon arrival it came to pass that Aurther had pulled the wrong gun. He had pulled a 9mm. No big deal. He went to pull a 45. OOPS, aint got one.

To make a long story shorter, Aurther made me a fair deal on a Pro Carry II w/night sites and cut me a deal on the two Wilson Combat mags I wanted. I walked out with my right arm re-attached and was happy.

End result, AJC Sports Shop is a good place to do business. They did a good job of making a bad situation ok. This is a rare thing these days.
My hat goes off to Aurther for caring about fixing a mistake that can happen to anyone. I will seek to do business with AJC again when buying in the future.

AJC is the first table I visit at the gun shows. I think the Kahr I bought several months ago was number 4 from them. I'm going to the GRB show today. Wish me luck!

I always go to AJC table LAST at shows 'cause I know thats where I will usually end up buying. I've bought three or four from them and got a good deal each time. They usually have the best prices at any show.

In the past two years I have bought 4 guns from them. They are great to deal with. I always check their table first at the gunshows, like I did Saturday at the GRB.

Their price is pretty good, but I always have to call like 100 times to actually get something. Nobody ever returned my calls. In my company, this is how sales/CSR get fired - Not Aceptable. The first I tried to buy a M4 from them, the owner Alan was so rude and I was irritated and went to buy online, which in process saving me about $5.

But again, I am not looking for long term service or anything. If they give me good price, I am happy about it. If not, I just order online.

If you are in TX, Bachman, AJC and Shramm give pretty much the best prices. I got 2 guns out of each of them already.

I've bought two handguns on separate occasions from this vendor at the guns shows. During my last purchase, he cut the price on my extra magazines when I purchased the 1911.

That little trip I made to pick up the Christmas present this year for my wife was to AJC's in Clute...Lots of good stuff in there...

They will certainly be getting more attention at the gunshows from now on...

I live about 20 min from them. Aurthur is good people, Alan is an clod. It's funny, every gun show that I bought a gun from, has been at their booth. I have bought several guns from them. I also go in there just to talk with Aurthur, if I get a new scope, night sights or whatever he sets me up for nothin. Great selection and good prices. Almost all of my guns came from them.

I agree with Glockin, Arthur is Good People. And they do have good prices. I never had a problem with Alan ,he was also very helpful to me. I have bought 5 pistol from them and never had any problems with service or prices. They also have pretty good deals on used guns.
