Oh, well, I can still follow here and on twitter.
The Texas Tribune is going to be liveblogging the session today as well.

Texas Legislature Lunch recess until 2pm today (Central Time)
Texas House isn't taking up fiscal matters bills until after lunch

1581 will have "Point of Order"

if it's a 1 subject "poo", then 100 votes or so suspends that rule ... lotta republicans in that room :)

RepJoeDeshotel Joe Deshotel
Yes the Point on 1581 is on the two subject rule because of the gun bill being added in Sen.

RepJoeDeshotel Joe Deshotel
Rep Taylor called a meeting of the Republican caucus for 1:30 today. I wonder what that's about? #txlege
:mrgreen:

To kill the gun amend at this point the whole bill (1581) has to go down. Amend may thus be a poison bullet

------------------------------

Perhaps he realized that the "gun bill" is a "fiscal matter" considering all the annual insurance premiums saved "forevermore" with immunity from lawsuits etc (unlike Virginia Tech)

Still, they'll raise a POO Point Of Order about "two subject rule" that bills can only contain 1 subject. That "rule" can be suspended by 2/3 vote .... (there's a LOT of Republicans in that room)

uses Realplayer
http://www.house.state.tx.us/video-audio/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

House Streamed Live without Realplayer on Tx Tribune (converted to adobe Flash I think)
http://www.texastribune.org/session/82R/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(That's slower for me and with commercials)

they're recessed till 2 pm tho

If there's a POO on the cincealed carry, shouldn't the majority come back with a POO on the cigarette tax?

You know, I have had the session streaming in my office through parts of the morning and right now while I work on other things, and it amazes me how much time is wasted during the conductance of our state's business.

Giving time to reconsider votes so they can obtain beano/Tums if they vote right. Have to give bloating time to maximize its potential the desire to change and vote properly along party lines.
