Subordinates: CB,LB,PE

MIXED BEVERAGE LATE HOURS PERMIT (LB)
Permit authorizes a Mixed Beverage permittee to sell mixed beverages until 2 A.M.

If it had FB ,,,, then it' would be blue/under v51% I forget what the others are so I dunno

The absence of an FB means it could be EITHER red/prohibited for licensees or blue/allowed for Licensees
So
:headscratch :confused5

Could call them "Hello, I'm checking on local liquor licenses and I see yours was issued on ___ expires on ____ could you look at it and verify whether it says sign=red or if it says sign=blue?"
Who am I?
I have an official position with the ___ Government and I'm not at liberty at this time to disclose my title, but I'm surveying TABC licensees by phone as it's easier than walking into each place where they are publicly displayed to get the info.
(Official title = Taxpayer, but they don't need to know that....position is usually "bent over")

would not surprise me one bit that Stubb's is 51% - they sell a lot of BBQ at lunch, but at night it's a typical 6th-street area bar/concert venue ... at least that's the vibe I got last time I was there (about 5 years ago).

I wrote an email to the guys at http://www.texas3006.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; one time asking if they could allow for places to be posted that are NOT prohibited.
If you do a search and find nothing, does that mean you can carry or just that noone has posted that you cant?
Never heard back.

I really think that being able to post that you CAN carry is just as important as posting that you CAN'T carry.

Just my 2 cents.

It could be that no one has posted about it. Better to be safe and do a little investigating on your own. :thumbs2:

Not surprise they did not respond. Since you can carry in probably 99% of places not prohibited by statue, then posting where you CAN carry would be almost impossible. Let's see, every Walmart, every Target, every Home Depot, every HEB ,every Kroger, every Lowes, every Academy, every Walgreens, every CVS, every McDonalds, etc, etc, etc. As you can see, it will be impossible.

I would guess Stubb's is not 51%. The subordinates are for a catering permit (CB) and a beverage cartage permit (PE) which lets them move liquor around. With their lunch crowds, and a catering business, I would be really surprised if they are 51%.

But until someone sees the license or calls TABC to check, we do not know for sure.

I agree with Slothstein. A BBQ place is around 30% at best. The only places that are for real food places are well under 50% unless they are openlate with bands and nightclub type activities

I've never once been suprized by a 51% sign. If the "average" person goes there to eat (with or without booze) it's probibly under 51%.

Having said that, I dont think Stubbs operates as a night club after dinner

So I didnt have time to look at the actual license but outside BOTH front doors there are the RED 51% signs.

I took the gun back to the car and grabbed the Kimber Pepper blaster...

If you would, post that up to texas3006.com as 51%

Still, it's possible they posted the "wrong" signs ...

only looking at the license itself will tell you if it is "supposed to be" a 51% red sign

As I understand it, both signs are supplied to businesses and they are supposed to know their colors if they went to Kindergarten, but many still post the "wrong" sign.

On the publicly displayed license itself it will say :
SIGN=RED
SIGN=BLUE

So if they have a license that states sign=blue, but they have 51% signs posted, I know that you can notify TABC, but up until that point, is it legal to carry in such a place or do the incorrect 51% signs still prohibit CHL?

You can carry. All that matters is the official status. The sign or lack [abbreviated profanity deleted] sign is only a defense to prosecution. The proper posting of the sign does change your ability to carry or not. An invalid 51% means you can carry, and a lack of 51% sign (when in fact the venue is a 51% venue) does not mean you can carry.
