A Beaumont man is in jail this morning after he tried to burglarize the office of an insurance agent Monday night.
Police say officers responded to a burglary in progress at Charles E. Gibbs Insurance located at 1035 Washington Blvd just before 8:00.
When officers arrived they found the business owner holding the suspect at gunpoint.
The business owner said he was alerted when he heard broken glass and found that a man had broken and climbed through a back window; he held him at gunpoint until officers arrived
This happened on the fringe of one of Beaumont's high crime areas. Good for the owner.
