A Florida beauty queen put a definitive end to a violent 3:00 AM home invasion at her residence - with several rounds from her pink .38 revolver.

This whole story sounds like it was written for the Sunday supplement in the Living Section rather than a crime report. I think this man is bragging and is plain stupid for saying this to a reporter. Now the next robber knows where to make a big score and that they have a gun. Maybe he should have told them what room in his 2,732-square-foot house that his fiance keeps the gun.
