DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – An East Dallas woman wants to warn others about a violent attack during which she was robbed and cut after returning home from work at 10:30 p.m. Thursday in the 6000 block of Prospect Ave.
“I got out of my car and I was getting groceries out of the back seat,” she said. “I heard footsteps behind the car.”
The woman, who did not want to be identified, made her way from her driveway to her front porch when the attacker grabbed her from behind.

Many parts of "East Dallas" are not nice parts of town. Many years ago I heard the term "East Dallas Special" used to describe switchblade knives. Like I said rough neighborhood.
I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.

Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.

...made a bid in Oak Cliff Friday where the lady had to unlock the back gate to let us in...cameras and deadbolts everywhere...I asked her if she wanted us to wait while she relocked the gate...she said "That's OK, I have a gun"...no matter where we live, some adapt and prepare...some don't...sorry this lady was hurt and terrorized...but it can happen anywhere today...we have to be aware and have a plan...even in gated neighborhoods, you gotta keep your head up...

"My trust in people," she said. "My trust in strangers."
Trust, but verify. Fail to verify at your own risk.

Yes it was Sean Connery in the "Untouchables" the line was "Dumb (epithet for an Italian) bringing a knife to a gunfight."
