Just saw this on the news.

WOW! So many things wrong.

1st - not having one in the chamber
2nd - dropping the mag when chambering.
3rd - shooting at what?

Scary that this guy has a gun. Even with that said, it may have saved his life in spite of all the errors. I'm just glad I wasn't around.

Served 7 years in the Iraqi Army.......... :eek6

Shooting at someone who's fleeing?

(not an answer to #3, just another concern)

Wow wow.

Like you said, so many things wrong. He could have been so easily killed when he grabbed their guns.
Hard to know or say what I'd have done differently though. (except the obvious: carry chambered and make it a GLOCK so I know it will go bang)

But if you work in a store like that, it would be hard to not have my hand on my gun all the time. Any time someone came in I probably would after being robbed. I think when people walk in, you could tell if they're there to shop or not. If they move right in and right toward you, I think I'd be ready to draw very quickly, and I for dang sure wouldn't have to chamber a round. That magazine falling out was like a nightmare scenario. It reminds me of dreams I have where I need to run, but I can't hardly move. That's how I would feel if my magazine hit the floor in that scenario... wow.

I don't see an issue with that. He has no idea when the threat is stopped or gone. They could easily be running toward the door, but ready to turn and fire again.

Off hand I can't find the law which allows gun store employees to open carry, but I would think with the common conception that convenience stores get robbed, an employee could open carry there too.

I guess Kamil the store owner reacted correctly. However, carrying a low cost handgun, unloaded is clearly a mistake. I hope he learned a lesson. The Magazine was dropped, Why? was not seated correctly?

The guy tried to disarm the BG since he was to close. I saw he tried to reach for his gun but in split sec decided to attack to disarm.

As for the shooting, he was shooting suppressively but dangerously. One of his employer was on the other side of the isle and he was shooting in that direction. Shooting above the isle and in the direction where the BG has to go (door) was just because of the Ad. dump he was having.

Most likely the BG would visitng again and I hope this time would have the right welcome party ( Shotgun!)
