Pictures of your "Black Guns"
Re: Pictures of your "Black Guns"
Just finished my sorta black gun today...
Spike's Tactical Midlength with FDE Magpul MOE furniture.
I knew I was going with FDE MOE from the start, so I decided to source the parts from several places. Started with a Spike's stripped lower directly from Spike's (a few days later, AIM had more Spike's stripped lowers for $79.95 and free shipping ). Purchased the lower build kit (everything you need to assemble a lower - fire control group, mil-spec buffer tube, spring, buffer, etc) from Palmetto State Armory which also came with MOE stock, pistol grip and trigger guard. Got the complete midlength upper from another vendor and the MOE handguards from somewhere else too.
I hope Santa brings me an ACOG this year.

Man I'd love to have a PS90 to throw behind the back seat of my truck but the cost of the ammo keeps me away.

Re: Pictures of your "Black Guns"
As an update, I just put a Nikon Monarch VSD red dot optic on my AR and took it out for a spin this past weekend. I am quite happy with its performance and features. Some updated photos:

I built it from individual parts beginning in August. I started out with a stripped lower from CMMG. All other parts are from Rock River Arms, with the exception of the Matech rear sight, ordered from Botach Tactical.

TAM - Thanks for explaining all of the features of your black gun. I always wondered why asssault rifles were black. I had no idea that the bullets were more deadly.

Actually, that's not mine. My son emailed me that picture yesterday. I don't know where he got it from, but I thought it was hilarious and this seemed the perfect place to post it.WildBill wrote:TAM - Thanks for explaining all of the features of your black gun. Here's a pic of mine. It's my first AR and is definitely still a work in progress. Starting to realize that BRD that everyone was talking about.

Re: Pictures of your "Black Guns"
Your Eotech seems to be mounted a bit far forward on the rail, unless you've got a quick-detach magnifier that normally goes on behind there.
Re: Pictures of your "Black Guns"
I thought it but didn't want to say it. But hey, whatever floats your boat or finds your lost remote, right? Nice starting rig you got there though. Just wait till the accessory bug bites and then you're really in trouble!NcongruNt wrote:Your Eotech seems to be mounted a bit far forward on the rail, unless you've got a quick-detach magnifier that normally goes on behind there.
