My wife and I are thinking of going to the public schools rally this weekend at the capital. Is there any reason why I can't carry there? I don't think so but thought I would ask. Don't want to get popped for being armed at a political "protest" or other obscure crime.
Thanks

Re: CHL at a political rally
It is legal for a person with a CHL to carry at a political rally or protest in a public place that is not otherwise prohibited, and a city cannot make it illegal (Local Government Code 229.001(b)(6)—the Quanell X law).

It's legal in Texas. It's not legal in many other states that have CHL laws.

Yes, we're fortunate that Texas has fairly well-defined laws (though they could be clearer, or better yet abolished). Some states have laws against carrying weapons a "public gatherings" and other vague terms.
