Be sure to rub his feet when he gets there for all his hard work!!

Jmoney sorry to hear about your longer wait. Your plastic should be right around the corner just keep trying  Good thing it's not the first of 2009 when it was 6 months minimum.

"6 months minimum"? I received my plastic Feb 6, 2009 which was exactly 60 days from the day I took my class. I want to say my app arrived in Austin 56 days before I had plastic in hand. And others were getting them quicker than that. Don't know where you are getting the 6 month figure from.

I took my class in oct. 2009 and our instructor said that at the first of the year it was taking 6 months. I personally didnt keep up with it then.

I had been lurking on here and another Texas gun forum for a long time before I ever joined. One of the reason I held off for so long long was the talk of 6+ month waits to get a CHL everyone was experiencing. I know it doesn't make sense to hold off when the turn around is so long, but it did discourage me.

Not until recently did i decide to finally go for it, after reading the times had dropped considerably.

LOL - if you'd applied back then, you'd already have your plastic!

That's why I wrote it didn't make much sense.

Officially 60 days today, still no return for any one of my four messages. I'm swamped through the week so I doubt I'll have time to give them a call until sometime next monday, guess they are going to get a break from my messages after all. Still can't believe I have had no correspondence after a week.

Well I finally managed to get ahold of someone, I miscalculated my 5 years from the infraction, and went with date of arrest rather than date of deferred adjudication, instead of declining me and making me go through the entire thing again, they are holding my file until the end of the month when I am eligible, and issuing it then. I must say that is very nice of them.

so 24 more days and then I can start rushing home to check the mailbox again.

glad to hear you finally heard something, and i'm impressed that they're actually going to hold your file as opposed to making you start the process all over again
