The above link contains all the information about the upcoming Austin PD gun buyback.
I got rid of a bad .22 rifle in the last APD buyback in June 2010.
Wish I could find some more bad guns to turn in.

There is a limit of two guns per person
I could have carved lots of "replicas" before then.

That's what the police at these things think too, but I've never heard nor seen cited what law we would be breaking.jtran987 wrote:id go with you but i think we might get in trouble lol

So, buy two fake plastic Steyr AUGs here: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Take to APD, get $400.
That's about $350 profit. Then take that and help buy yourself a nice, new REAL rifle.
Thank you, APD!

"...Bring gun and ammunition.."

But without a way to check the serial numbers on the weapons you'd likely find yourself in possession of stolen property after the 1st buy. Then you are in trouble.austinrealtor wrote:That's what the police at these things think too, but I've never heard nor seen cited what law we would be breaking.jtran987 wrote:id go with you but i think we might get in trouble lol

Only law you would likely be breaking is a city ordinance.
I would not give these folks anything to improve their statistics.

My math is a little different, netting ($39.49), $23.99 per gun plus $11.49 shipping minus the $20 APD would give you. They pay $10 for replicas and toys, not $200, even if they are copies of "assault rifles".lkd wrote:So, buy two fake plastic Steyr AUGs here: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
