I can't believe what you all are doing to me!
After lurking this forum for a while, I decided to go to the local shop and see what all of this reloading 'hoop-lah' was about. 2 hours later, I left with a new Lyman Expert Kit with the Crusher II press, .40 AND .45 dies, Hornady bullets, primers and powder.
Since this was CLEARLY all of your faults...I am asking for a donation from everyone to cover the expense of this new hobby.
Now all I have to do is tumble all of the brass I have...In the tumbler I don't have.....DOH!

Well, welcome to the "club".
I won't tell you, since you're just starting out, how much fun it is to cast your own bullets. Nor will I tell you how a chronograph is absolutely necessary to find out if your loads are up to your expectations; nor how much a Progressive press will increase your output. Don't even start to think of these things.
You just need to think of how much money you'll save by loading your own versus buying the Wallmart cannon fodder.
Personally, I've almost "saved" myself into the poorhouse.
Good Luck!!
Gerry

I've used this tumbler from Harbor Freight for about a year now with good results:

I feel the OP's pain, I'm in the same boat. I think I've got all the bits & pieces now - well, other than the .308 dies and shell plate. Well, and the automatic case feeder option for my Hornady Lock & Load progressive. That, and the bullet feeder.
But then, with rifle cases, I really should have a case trimmer as well...
Doh!

Re: I can't believe what you all are doing to me!
Last night I ran about 400 brass 45ACP cases through my vibratory case cleaner and tried out for the first time a tip someone mentioned here several weeks ago. The tip was to take a paper towel, the fluffy kind, and tear it up into 2" squares aproimately and put them in the tumbler with the media & brass. Boy, do they ever soak up the dirt and dust. It's amazing how black they are after a couple of hours and how little dust and grime is left in the tumbler and on the cases.
Try it, you'll like it!!!

You can throw your brass in the your laundry dryer, crank to go slow and let it go! Throw in some dryer freshner cloth and you are all set.
