Best shot range Sunday 5pm -7pm

Post by fm2 »

Hey everyone we are getting together to work on drawstroke, grip, stance, trigger control this Sunday @ Best Shot Range in Friendswood.

Cost is $15 from 5pm -7ish. If it's your first time out, try to get there @ 4:30. In addition to regular range gear, you'll need a belt, belt holster about 100 rounds of ammo (they have ammo), concealment shirt or vest, at least 2 magazines. Shoot me an e-mail if you can make it out glockfan@comcast.net

Is this continuing weekly?

We'll meet up again this Sunday evening for some practice on malfunction clearing. You'll need a belt, belt holster, and about 100 rounds if you want to participate. Come on out and get in some good practice.

Fantastic training this Sunday!

We started on failure-to-fire drills; practicing dry, with movement, and then hot. Next we got into double-feeds. Finally we practiced scenarios where you applied the skills we drilled on against realistic targets that required target discrimination.

If you want to train for the real fight... this is the place :txflag:

Yes indeed it was a great session!!

I really learned a lot; mostly about how ill prepared I was for real world situations. That's the beauty of these Sunday tactical sessions. During the week you do your dry fire practice and get very pleased with your results then go to Best Shot thinking this time you've got it licked. Fm2 sets up a situation you never thought of and you find out you are just not really prepared to handle five bad guys in a parking lot!! Toast again! :grumble

One question I have for the rest of you folks who were there: why was I the only one to shoot over the barrier at the two near BG's?

Usually if I do something no one else does there is a very good reason for not doing it that I need to know about. So come on folks, why did everyone else pie around the obstruction to get a clear shot when you could simply have shot over it while the BG had his weapon at waist level? :confused5

Generally I avoid shooting over obstacles and instead shoot around. It is rule of thumb that can change depending on the situation. If you stick your head up where it is visible to everyone... then everyone can shoot back at you at the same time... if you pie around obstacles... you engage only 1 enemy at a time. It's easier to take 4 people "one at a time" rather than taking them "all on at the same time".

BINGO!! That is down right obvious and I sure didn't see it. Many, many thanks, Paladin. I'll sure know better next time. :thumbs2:

This Sunday we'll work on one handed shooting and do a little work with the flashlight.

I have been trying to get to Ferrell's Sunday training since I found out about it.
I haven't been able to shoot a full power pistol for some time due to "tennis elbow".
I am just know starting to shoot a 22lr pistol.

I was wondering Ferrell if I would be able to use my Glock AA 22lr conversion in these training sessions?
