As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Pretty cool, Voter Id passed at a 19-11 vote. and in a separate amendment (30-0) The CHL plastic was made an official voter id card.

I know I'm not the only one who could do this, but it sure would be cool to present all 4 allowable forms of ID!

I love this never-ending claim:
Democrats said it would only keep voters - their voters - away from the polls. Such voting groups brought up were the elderly, the poor, minorities, and the disabled.
Because we all know that the elderly, the poor, minorities, and the disabled are prohibited from getting state-issued ID. :banghead:

Well, I am elderly, disabled, a minority and poor.

I have a DL, CHL,
But no passport (Why would I leave Texas for any reason?) and only a draft card from the 1970s instead of a military ID, (Nixon stopped taking applicants when my card said I was 1A)

I don't feel inconvenienced at all.
I guess people like that illegal alien who the BATF and Austin Police had use a Texas Driver's License as identification at the Austin Gun show may need to buy another one at the Flea Market though, so I can see where it might inconvenience him if he doesn't want a real Texas driver's license.

This is a true example of both 'common sense' legislation and of 'low hanging fruit'. Claims of disfranchisement of any voter due to an ID requirement are 100% bunk.

The only reason I can see for any legislator to vote against this measure is to perpetuate voter fraud. This, of course, enables election tilting. :banghead: :banghead:
