The Russian Investigative Committee considers the incident as a terrorist act and has opened a criminal case in the matter, Vladimir Markin of the Investigative Committee tells Interfax.

It will be interesting to see if any particular religious and/or political cult and/or faction gets credit for this murderous terrorist attack on unarmed civilians. Stay tuned.

Bets anyone?

More than likely Chechens or other Islamic separatists from the North Caucasus. Russia has had a decade and a half of terrorism from them. Some of you may remember the mass hostage takings in a school and a couple of other events at a hospital and a theater.
