I want to throw this out there. In light of Arizona and Virginia Tech both of these shooters had shown multiple warnings signs prior to the shootings, both were clearly deranged, same as the Luby's Shooter(the guy was off his rocker).

In these cases should there be a process and system in place for enough complaints to be able to prevent someone from purchasing a gun legally?

NOTE: I am not a necessarily in favor of that idea. I am very well aware that a system like that can be manipulated but the gun control nazis.

However, if you look at Virginia Tech and Arizona both showed numerous prior warning signs.

I am just ticked at how ridiculous the left is on this issue. We have three clear cases of someone of their rocker with multiple prior warning signs who were able to purchase guns legally, but the left wants to ban high capacity clips.

My thinking on this is if they were not able to purchase the guns legally then the issue focuses to accountability of the illegal seller.

You just made the point against gun control. The problem in all these incidents was the person, not the tool they used. If they don't use guns, they'll use a different tool. Example 1 and Example 2 prove that.

A person cannot be deprived of a right except by due process of law (5th amendment).

In our legal environment, due process means a finding by a judge or jury in a process where the person has the right to counsel, to confront accusers, discover evidence, etc.

We already have that in place for firearms sales. A person who is adjudicated mentally ill cannot legally buy or possess a firearm or ammunition.

It is legally and morally impermissible to deny a person the right to keep and bear arms or any other right simply because enough other people think he's weird. I'd be the first to go in that case.

And, as you rightly understand, if bureaucrats could deny a right without due process, an anti-RKBA administration could put any number of people on the list. We have already seen that kind of problem with the no-fly and terrorist-watch lists.

Crazy people are going to do crazy stuff. If they cannot obtain what they want legally, they will steal it, buy it on the black market, or find an alternative.

In the Tucson massacre, if the lunatic absolutely could not have obtained a weapon, he could have done his evil deeds with an SUV or stolen garbage truck (Tamie beat me to it). China currently has an epidemic of knife attacks, often with multiple fatalities before the cops intervene. The worst cases of domestic terrorism in U.S. history have been accomplished with explosives, not firearms.

This is the normal world. Everyone has arrived at their own conclusions by the life they have lived, their education, and arguing ideals with other people. What is reasonable to you is not necessarily reasonable nor logical to another. Everyone is different. That is what makes the world we live in what it is.
