This just fires me up, especially cause "yes" is winning by a signifigant margin.

We need to ban cars over 4 cylinders, because we just don't need to go that fast.

Good, but I just read of a better way to express the problem-Purplehood wrote:We need to ban cars over 4 cylinders, because we just don't need to go that fast.
Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz) in response to Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC-
"It's like trying to stop DWI by limiting the size of the gas tank."
I think that is priceless!!!!!!!!

Just did. Voted on my computer, the results were Total votes: 102456. Next I voted on my cell phone (using AT&T data, not local wireless) and the results were Total votes: 102456Beiruty wrote:43 vs 57go cast your vote from cell from pc from ipad...

Re: CNN Poll - Should magazines be limited to 10rnds
This is just a ridiculous poll. It is typical of the anti-gun lobby to try and capitalize off a terrible incident to further their political agenda. The Tucson shooter was no more enabled to cause havoc due to his 30 round magazines than he would have with 10 rounders. In fact, if he had been shooting a .45 with a 10 round magazine, Ms. Giffords would likely not have survived. A semi-skilled shooter can drop a 10 round magazine and load another in about one second, so the high capacity argument is only meant to inflame people who know nothing about guns. Unfortunately, it is not possible to legislate the evil out of men's hearts. At least we live in a state where responsible citizens have an option to defend themselves rather than trying to tackle a deranged shooter between reloading 10 round magazines as some are suggesting.
“While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader.” ― Samuel Adams

He was stopped by the crowd after emptying the 30 round magazine and trying to reload another. So for some reason I come up with less than half as many people would have been shot if he only had 10 round magazines. In my mind that is substantially less havoc.karder wrote: The Tucson shooter was no more enabled to cause havoc due to his 30 round magazines than he would have with 10 rounders.
Am I missing something? There is something in your logic I'm not getting, nor are the majority of the people that have responded to the CNN poll. Much better arguments are needed if the gun control momentum this tragic event started has a hope to be stopped.

The shooter was a dork, a naive shooter and maybe never practiced reloads (good thing he was not trained). Trained shooter can reload, and keep shooting in split second. I also believe the victims were lucky the shooter did not shoot those who are closer to him first. Something is called tactical priority.BillT wrote:He was stopped by the crowd after emptying the 30 round magazine and trying to reload another. No argument from me on that one! I think I heard he was mentally ill and not thinking coherently for some time. Probably why he didn't practice his tactical reloads. I hope we can come up with better arguments than "The shooter was a dork...." Not sure the majority of Americans will excuse the carnage the high capacity mag enabled him to do for that reason either.Beiruty wrote:
