Or none 12 times each. Remember Miami, 1986; Platt wasn't stopped until the 12th hit.baldeagle wrote:Lautenberg is an idiot. The NYPD reports about a 28% hit rate in deadly force incidents. That means that, on average, a 33 round magazine would allow you to hit 8 bad guys once each or 4 bad guys twice or 2 bad guys four times each.

I've got this uneasy feeling that the Dems and anti-gunners will be successful in getting this thing passed by playing on emotion....like naming it the Gabriel Giffords Protection Act or something similar.....wouldn't surprise me to see prices of "high capacity" mags and guns start rising.....

Already are; as sales increased for people who want to protect against 4 or 5 home invaders fearing they won't be available soon.Commander wrote:I've got this uneasy feeling that the Dems and anti-gunners will be successful in getting this thing passed by playing on emotion....like naming it the Gabriel Giffords Protection Act or something similar.....wouldn't surprise me to see prices of "high capacity" mags and guns start rising.....

Re: Lautenberg introduces high capacity mag ban
Another CHL holder at work thought I was being absurd by having at least 6 mags (hi cap) for every pistol I own. I was waiting until a mag would go on sale and then buy a number of them over the last few years. He asked me why I bothered and I told him that I felt that since they were banned once they would probably be banned again. These things go in cycles. He said that it was absurd, the AW ban had been repealed and would never be put back in place again.

Re: Lautenberg introduces high capacity mag ban
To be honest, I just bought a hi-cap mag for my EDC, fearing that a ban may be looming. Thankfully mags of my full-size work in my EDC compact, so I do have a few full-size high-cap mag.
If money weren't a bit tight right now, I'd consider hunting for some more.
I hope it doesn't happen, doesn't make much sense. There is that precedent, however.
I just hope lawmakers take a deep-breath, count to 10, and sit around a table talking more about THE LUNATIC's abuse of an item. Not the item.

NOT every wacko uses this or that gun or magazine or knife.
EVERY SINGLE ONE of these crazies trying to kill others wears shoes They help them get from place to place to hurt MORE people, and sometimes are used in escapes.

Thank heavens Pelosi isn't speaker now or there would already have been a bill passed in the house banning hi cap mags and who knows what else.

And highly consider a preemptive ban on roller skates and roller skate manufacturers.RPB wrote:I've been busy all day commenting on newspapers. tv stations etc ,,, forgot if I said it here but ...

I was thinking of buying some 9 round magazines for my 1911.

Just ordered two 33-round mags for my Glock. They're getting hard to find.

Re: Lautenberg introduces high capacity mag ban
what i dont understand is everyone wants to ban weapons and such but pretty much anything can be turned into a weapon. i could impail someone in the chest with the pen on my desk if i wanted but no one considers that a weapon?
Re: Lautenberg introduces high capacity mag ban
That's fine if you want to murder someone. However, a pen or rat poison isn't very good for defending yourself against criminals. Makes you wonder at the real motives behind anti gun laws.alvins wrote:what i dont understand is everyone wants to ban weapons and such but pretty much anything can be turned into a weapon. i could impail someone in the chest with the pen on my desk if i wanted but no one considers that a weapon?
