I don't know where it originated and no one else has commented yet, but the use of force and confrontation in attempting to relieve some one of their property is not burglary. It is ROBBERY. And in Texas this was attempted AGGRAVATED Robbery. :totap:
I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.

Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.

Michael Berry's pod cast has the interview of the home owner in the 2 pm hour at http://www.the950.com/cc-common/podcast ... lBerry.xml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It is well worth the time to listen to the interview.

I missed the broadcast, and had been thinking the this would be a natural interview for MBerry. Was glad a podcast was available, listened last night.

Nice to hear Top Gun gave him a lifetime membership. MBerry is asking listeners who are interested in helping the CHL to get a replacement carry pistol to contact him. As usual, the PD took his pistol for the duration of their investigation.

The CHL said his wife was now interested in getting her plastic as well.

I've noticed that several of the subsequent news stories last night mentioned that his family was with him.

According to the radio interview, at least one of the BG's guns was a BB gun. No wonder they fled when real bullets started coming their way.

The coverage has been very "positive" so far.....

I keep waiting for the, "Alleged vicitm turns out to be be gun nut with a desire to kill...took advanced classes in the art of death....assaults youths that were cold (hence the ski mask) looking for directions to a safe place to shoot BB gun," story.... :banghead:

Mr. Efrehem Del Rosario, Thank you!

You are a brave man:

When he got out of the car, Del Rosario says a man had a gun pointed straight at him and was joined by at least two accomplices.

He said, "I ran away ... to get away from them, to draw the fire to me if they were going to shoot. Then I started shooting at them."

True grit for sure! :txflag:

Awesome ending to a scary situation. Top marks for this guy. Totally brilliant for having a pre-defined plan. Ya gotta love it when a plan comes together.

Sad and comical at the same time. Reminds me of Crocodile Dundee "That's not a knife..... now THIS is a knife!!!"

Too bad the dirt bags will continue to live off the backs off the good people, even if they're convicted.
This will only hurt a little. What comes next, more so.

The homeowner said he obtained a concealed handgun license a few years ago to protect his family, and unfortunately it wasn’t until Monday that he had to use it.
I noticed that too .. I'm sure the reporter meant "fortunately" it wasn't until Monday ... or "unfortunately" he had to use it Monday ...probably one of the many who also say "irregardless" when they mean "regardless"
:iagree: , but its still annoying irregardless.
