I agree, thats why I refuse to watch the news at night. Nothing good is every on. Its always murder, rape and anything else that is disgusting.

TWICE!,
XtremeDuty.45 wrote: marry her, (did that too)
TWICE! (Or three times if you count renewing my vows with the first),

Did that, now it's just her and me,

Yep.

AT Christmastime in 1964 I met this cute little blond, and thought she was the one for all time, and then she broke up with me.

In 1969, I met the sister of a fellow volunteer fireman, and thought she was the one for all time. I married her, raised her kids and ours, had a great life until she passed away due to cancer in 1993. Thought it was all over forever.

Then I found the first one again, after 28 years the flame burned just as bright, married her and raised her kid as best I could, and we are still going strong after almost 18 years.

They were both the "Woman of My Dreams" for different reasons, and I still love the first one, equally if differently, from the second.

Doing the best that I can. (Without watching the morning or evening news.)

A long time ago, newspaper editor Horace Greeley is said to have told a a young cub reporter, "...when a dog bites a man, that is not news. When a man bites a dog, that is news".

Now you know why the news is the way it is..."nice" doesn't sell papers.

I've heard a little different version of that quote, that always makes me chuckle, not chortle, but chuckle:

"When a dog bites a man, that's that....When a man bites a dog, that's too much whiskey!" :biggrinjester:

It wouldn't hurt if she had a nice dowry.

Kinda like in "The Quiet Man"?

My wife grew up poor for a long time, until her dad got enough seniority on the railroad to make a decent living.

That has fueled her mindset of saving. So a dowry isn't needed, just a woman with a good business head on her shoulders.

That she is loaded so I could hunt, fish and shoot all day :biggrinjester:

In all seriousness, there is only one more thing that I want. Our kids are technically my step-children but I don't call them or treat them like that. The one thing that I could ask for is to have kids of our own and we are gonna do that as soon as I get back home. So, after that I couldn't ask for anything else.

I too call that the American Dream :patriot:
