You sure it wasn't a CHL badge he had just bought at the show?Purplehood wrote:Clothing has no bearing on whether an individual is an LEO, or not.
I was at a Houston Gun Show a year or so back and observed a guy that looked just like Chuck Berry dressed for a motorcycle-gang. He was OCing in GRB convention center. I observed him for a while and finally noticed amidst all the bling what appeared to be some sort of TX LEO badge.

Thank you so much for saying that, as I was thinking it!Pete92FS wrote:You sure it wasn't a CHL badge he had just bought at the show?Purplehood wrote:Clothing has no bearing on whether an individual is an LEO, or not.

When I went to go see Shooter in the theater (Rave Motion Pictures, Hickory Creek), I noticed a feller in the bathroom afterwards. I'd seen him in the theater before the movie had started (I managed to get to the theater early, so had a good vantage point of all who entered after me).
He had on one of those barely IDPA-legal vests, and I recalled saying to my date, "Bet that thar feller is packing. Shewt, bet there's a few people packin' in here!"
Sure enough, when I walked by him in the Can, he had a 1911-style on an OWB Holster. I chuckled, washed my paws, and continued on, knowing that was the safest theater in the world, that night.
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

No. But it sure looked like a Lone Star of Texas kind of badge...perhaps a Ranger.

Re: Spotted a Guy Carrying
I saw a guy in our neighbor hood who had a Springfield XD on his hip OC. I assumed by his dress he was no LEO, but after talking with him found out that he works for the US Marshalls office. His dress said thug. But considering the area he had been working in, I can understand. It is still strange seeing a 40 year old wearing Vans and baggy pants.

P.S. the guys that wear those britches aren't the same guys that wear Vans.

Nah, the ones with the britches are the ones that are also constantly pawing their private parts in an attempt to direct attention to those regions.
They too like to think that they are "carrying".

Am I to understand that some LEO actually wear plain clothes......NO WAY!! Thanks to those members on here that revealed that fact to the rest of us. So in those prostitution stings on the show Cops those really are female LEO dressed up like ladies of the night.

Re: Spotted a Guy Carrying
I was riding harleys this past weekend with the future step dad in law, and despite my multiple layers for warmth, I got off for a break and saw my jacket was riding OVER the grip of my pistol. Nice.
