Question about renewal??

My wife's renewal letter came in the mail this week. Her license expires on her birthday in June of 2011. We are leaving Texas after Christmas and will be back by April. Her taking a renewal class in April is fine. Question 1.....will that be enough time ahead of her expiration to get her new license without problems?

Question 2............My license expires in December, 2011, will I be able to take a renewal class in April, or will I have to wait until the Fall????

She will have plenty of time. My last renewal student had his license in just about 30 days.

My renewal took 6 weeks. Should give you enough time.

To answer the second question - YES, you can take the class in April. You just can't submit your online application until 6 months before your expiration date.

Thanks for the responses. Looks like we'll be looking for CHL renewal class the first week of April in DFW area.

My renewal sailed through the system quickly. I took the renewed online, took the class, mailed the paperwork on 11/22 and had new plastic in hand last week. Happily surprised!

my renewal took 100 days.. so it is really just luck of the draw..

Just reread your post, TxLobo. If you had a renewal, why did they do another background check?
