Anyone ever had issues with Botach Tactical

#1

Post by garcia946 »

Placed an order with them the other day for some night sights and acouple of other small things. I checked tracking last night, it showed delivered ( left on porch ). Went to look but nada , zip ( there was some flyers on door ) but no package. Last time I ordered UPS stuck it in mailbox since it was small . Called UPS they told me to call Botach , I did left message , emailed them and did the call me now. Nothing at all yet. :waiting:
I`m thinking one of the flyer kids picked it up and walked off with it. :grumble
Tis the season of people following the USP/fed Ex guys to score some free presents....

I've ordered stuff from them 2 or 3 times and never had a major problem. However, they will create a tracking number 3 or 4 days early before the item ships.

Sorry some kid got your stuff :banghead:

Yep, I have a camera on my front door and front driveway. I have a recording of it all now, one day it may come in handy.

I got some really good deals from Botach, but if anything goes wrong, it is a pain in the neck to deal with them. So much so that I dumped them as a supplier, as cheap as I am. In one case I got a pistol box with a defective combo lock built in. Took some talking to convince them it was screwed up, but at last they agreed to take it back. They did replace with a working one, but as I recall I paid shipping to return.

I also cancelled an order once, and it took FOREVER for them to acknowledge it, and then even longer to credit back the charges on my card. As in a couple months with repeated phone calls, and when I got someone on the line, promises to make it happen that were not followed up. I was so disgusted I never went back.

That was probably three years ago, don't know if they are any better. I did get a good price on some Glock magazines, and an outstanding deal on a 5.11 denim jacket that I still wear every winter (was about 30% of retail, IIRC), but the mix-up with the cancelled order drove me away.

Good luck with your stuff.

I had a cell phone stolen after FedEx left it on the porch. Got a delivery of phone books and pretty sure the people delivering picked up the box. :mad5

If your package was insured, then it will be covered either way, but you will have a delay in getting a replacement as the claim will have to be filed by Botach with UPS. If not insured, then you are basically out of luck as Botach will have evidence they shipped it (tracking number) and UPS will be in the clear because it was not insured.

Some reported it's a hit and miss but I have always had great services. Bought quite some stuff from them.

Remember the days when UPS wouldn't leave anything with out a signature?

I also ordered some thing on Monday and they left it behind the front bushes.

The tracking number said the same thing as yours (On Porch).

I was a little surprised they would leave a computer in the bushes! Next time I'll request a signature only or drop

at my retired neighbors house.

I don't know if it's still the case but they used to have a package insured for the first $100 for free.

I wish you luck.

I got a few things in OK before I knew better. Now that I've heard people's stories, I'll stay away. Very little that they have that I can't find on amazon.com, a gun forum, Brownells LE, or Midway. There are some niche high end tac stores I like to browse, but I would not put botach in that category.

A friend of mine had a new HF transciever delivered, supposedly signature required, by UPS from a radio store in Newington CT that is long since closed. UPS left it on the doorstep and it was stolen and both UPS and the radio store denied any responsibility. My friend was out $1000.00 plus.

I have never heard anything good about them. Lots of stories of being billed as if item was in stock, but actually backordered months. Customer Service as almost non existent.

I just avoid them at all cost.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago when I tried to order from them. Although their BBB rating seems to have improved since then (they've been BBB-acrredited since 2008), I still won't buy from them.

This was my experience as well.
