I was pulled over the other day for using the right improved shoulder to make a turn...aparently you can't move to the right shoulder to let people pass on left...
Anyways I was on my way home and got stopped. I pulled my jeep into the walgreena with bexar county constable behind me lights and all. I had a kel-tec pf-9 in a box on the floor board ready to send in after the firing pun fell out of it after 200 rounds (that is another story). I wasn't carrying on me. When the I kept my hands clearly on the wheel and handed my DL and CHL to the Officer. He asked if I was carrying and I said not but there is a broken 9mm in a UPS box on the passenger floorboard. He smiled and said ok let me write a warning up and you'll be out of here in no time. I took my warning and headed home un-eventful.

Re: first LEO experience
Thats the problem with the Keltecs. My 380 broke a firing pin, the factory fixed it and I sold it cheap.

And I was thinking about getting one of those...Matthew2000tx wrote:Not to get off topic.. but when I called Keltec they say causally oh that happens all the time... you have life-time warranty.fannypacker wrote:Thats the problem with the Keltecs. The life-time warranty is nice'n'all, but I'd prefer it if they didn't break "all the time" in the first place.
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.
Re: first LEO experience
I'll try and remember to look this afternoon if no one else finds it, but I thought I read a statute that said moving to the right on the shoulder was okay to let others pass. However, you also said you were stopped for using the shoulder as a turn lane. I think that is still a no no. Moving to the right to allow others to pass may also depend on the type of road and other factors.Matthew2000tx wrote:I was pulled over the other day for using the right improved shoulder to make a turn...aparently you can't move to the right shoulder to let people pass on left...
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Re: first LEO experience
Sorry to diverge off-topic more: I am also on the verge of picking one of these up. I have read reports of problems, but was under the impression that many had been addressed with model modifications. I will have to dig into this a little bit more now. Thank you.Dave2 wrote:And I was thinking about getting one of those...Matthew2000tx wrote:Not to get off topic.. but when I called Keltec they say causally oh that happens all the time... you have life-time warranty.fannypacker wrote:Thats the problem with the Keltecs. Re: first LEO experience
Kel-Tec PF-9...
ok... now that we are officially off topic:
Bought it new in May.... used 4 times at range. 50 shots each. Cleaned after each use.. we'll kept. I liked the size of it... nice and small. It was very accurate but i kept accidentally ejecting the mag. We'll it was great to conceal but when it had 250 rounds through it I clicked the trigger and the pin fell out the back! no warning at all. The lady at Keltec said... "oh yeah that happens occasionally we'll fix it". She was very very causal about it and that just doesn't seem to be weapon I'll trust for my CHL.
OK... lets get back on track. If you have anymore questions PM me... lets keep this thread on track.

It's a good thing he likes CHL's because he was dead wrong in pulling you over.Matthew2000tx wrote:I was pulled over the other day for using the right improved shoulder to make a turn...aparently you can't move to the right shoulder to let people pass on left...
