Student takes 24 people hostage with handgun.
The teenager allowed five of his hostages out after about six and a half hours

I wonder if police arrived quickly (police response time may be irrelevant to the amount of time a shooter has to execute victims)

Capt. Benitez at TSU says they keep 3 officers on duty at all times for a University of 35,000 students and they can respond within 2 minutes ....

ummmm ok, so they can form a perimeter, wait outside and watch until the guy shoots himself, like at UT recently and like they always do (even at Luby's)

Ho Hum ... yet another student taking guns to a place where he knows that he won't be bothered. When will we stop being so stupid.

Analysis of Marinette hostage situation

He also said it's important to trust the school district's plan for handling this type of situation.

I repeat ...
The teenager allowed five of his hostages out after about six and a half hours

Assume even a really really physically handicapped shooter who could only pull the trigger once a minute, how many ...

Let's see, in less than 15 minutes, George Henard crashed truck through wall, regained composure after the wreck, exited vehicle, shot over 40 people, while still taking intermissions during the time to reload a few times and talk to a girl and her mother and let them go ...

Hostage taker has died from his self inflicted gunshot.

Article I saw called him a "gunman"...I'd say "gunboy"..he was not a man, he was 15 y/o.

I just refer to "suicidal shooter in a gun-free zone" ... like George Henard, and the guys at Columbine, Virginia Tech, etc etc etc
