Sounds like that restaurant needs some 30.06 signs at the door. Secondly, if I am out and exposed (restaurant, theater) than I will protect my family, and not wait until one of my kids gets shot before I figure out that the bg needs to be stopped

3 gunmen in the Chuck E Cheese with lots of kids in Newark, California. To draw my gun and start a fire fight in those conditions would be a hard call to make ....unless they start shooting first. Of course in CA only the BG's carry guns.

But seriously, what do you expect in a state that mandates by law that its citizens be unarmed victims? Even if you had a gun that you were illegally carrying in that restaurant, using it to "save the day" would likely get you a conviction for illegal gun possession.

Better to just quietly do whatever the men with guns tell you to do and hope they don't decide to kill you or your family. To expand upon a great quote from Sean Connery's character in "The Untouchables" .... "THAT's the Chicago/Kalifornia/Washington DC/New York/Massachussets way!"


To answer the OP's question, my personal decision (which is mine alone and not necessarily recommended for anyone else) is that any time a BG with a gun starts herding people into a locked room our lives are in grave danger and I will use deadly force if at all possible to avoid that situation. All depends on multiple facets of the actual scenario of course - how many gunmen? what kinds of weapons? what can I decipher from the general appearance of the gunmen - professionals? scared punk kids? meth heads? terrorists? innocent bystanders around/behind the BGs? how far do I need to shoot? in what direction? are multiple BGs spread far apart? are some out of sight? what weapon am I carrying? these are just a few of the multiple factors to consider

Notwithstanding the gun-free zone aspects of the robbery, it actually makes a lot of sense to hit a place like that. Lots of cash-flow, lots of innocents running around to make LEO's and reasonable gun-toting citizens think twice before shooting.

I don't know about the cash flow. Probably a lot of plastic in there, but I'm sure there is some cash.

If I had a clear shot I probably would, but three, that's rough. Be deliberate and decisive and take out the nearest threat first.

One woman said she wouldn't come back to that restaurant until the three men were caught. So she thinks this is the only place they will rob or that these three men are the only bad guys that will rob this place?

She has a slight case of coulrophobia (fear of clowns) and never cared for them or people in costumes like Mickey Mouse or others where you can't see a human face. So, her birthday parties were either McDonald's, or as she got a little older (5-6 range) Rain Forest Cafe. After that she decided she liked Hibachi Japanese and that was where she wanted to go for her birthday from about age 7 on. My wife and I were good with that as we also love Hibachi and that kept us away from the places like Chuck E Cheese.

I didn't know there was a name for such a condition, but I have known people with coulrophobia. I was living in California when the first Chuck E Cheese opened. It was a great place for kids and adults. Believe it or not, but they used to have very good pizza.

I was in the Newark Area Wednesday night thru this morning.
I am wondering how the perps got guns when there illegal to possess.
There anti gun policy is really working.
A few weeks ago when I was in New Jersey and we were going to Mississippi from there, I put my gun in a locked case and kept it in the baggage compartment of my plane. I know that's a grey area but I wanted it in Mississippi. My cousins in New Jersey don't seem to concerned about the crime issue and protecting them selves
